AAP MP Sanjay Singh demands CBI probe, a govt job and adequate financial compensation in the alleged custodial death of Altaaf in Kasganj Police station

The outspoken Aam Admi Party leader and Rajya Sabha member of parliament Sanjay Singh has demanded central bureau of investigation probe into the death of a 22 year old boy namely Altaaf allegedly accusing the Uttar Pradesh police for his murder demanding stringent punishment to the culprits sending them to jail, a government job to the next of the kin and adequate financial compensation to the anguished family.

In a tweet after visiting the family of Altaaf to part his grief with the tormented n bereaved parents, Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh wrote in Hindi : The death of Altaaf is straightaway a murder committed in police custody, which should be investigated by the CBI.

The bereaved family should be given a job and adequate financial compensation.

The AAM Admi party is wholeheartedly in support of the anguished family of Altaaf standing solidly behind them, tweeted AAP MP Sanjay Singh.

In another tweet earlier to the above, AAP leader Sanjay Singh MP has posted his pictures meeting the traumatic father of Altaf and other family members writing : In Kasganj I met the father of Altaaf, he told me that the policemen had taken his son from his house in perfect condition. The next day I got the news about his death. Altaf had been murdered, the matter should be investigated by the CBI and a member of the family should be given government job tweeted Sanjay Singh.

It may be recalled that according to the latest news reports Altaf was found dead in the toilet of Kasganj Police station on November 10 who was taken by the police to Kasganj police station for interrogation in connection with the case of his alleged involvement in eloping a hindu minor girl along with his friend.

This matter has now been highlighted by the media to the maximum and five policemen of Kasganj Police station along with the station house officer Veerendra Singh Indoria have been suspended pending probe already ordered into the case.

There are news reports that the police have allegedly given it a shape of suicidal death by hanging in a toilet of the Kasganj police station. However, the autopsy report has shown the death by asphyxiation, with no marks of hurt or bruises.

In the recent past there have been several cases of mysterious deaths by the police, the recent being a case of a dalit dying in police custody in Agra and a Kanpur businessmen by policemen in a hotel where Priyanka Gandhi, general secretary of Congress and Sanjay Singh of AAP including several political leaders had visited the bereaved family and castigated the Uttar Pradesh police and the government for arbitrary deaths in police custody.

The family of deceased Altaf had also accused Kasganj police for allegedly offering them Rs 5 lakhs and a job in government and pressurising for writing a note that the deceased was in depression and the police took him to a hospital for treatment where he succumbed to the disease and that the family had no complaint or grudge against the police said his father Chand Miyan.

The AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh has demanded a CBI probe and openly accused the Kasganj policemen for their alleged involvement in the murder of Altaf. His video expressing all this had been posted by him on his Twitter handle today. In BJP regime the law and order situation has completely gone awry. Here no one is safe and secured tweeted Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi.

On November 10, the Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi had also criticized the Uttar Pradesh police for several custodial deaths terming it as devourer rather than custodian as law and order situation in Uttar Pradesh has gone awry, completely where nobody is, secured. In a tweet un Hindi she wrote : After the police custody deaths of Altaaf at Kasganj, Arun Balmiki at Agra, Rajesh Kori in Sultanpur, it has become crystal clear that the custodians have become devourers. Uttar Police us in the top in custodial deaths in the country.

The senior journalist and activist Piyush Pant has also castigated the UP police and the government fir increasing custodial deaths in the largest state of the country urging the government to act fast to bring the culprits to justice.

  1. Police atrocities are undoubtedly on the increase. Let there be any party’s Govt but police always remains in force. All orders are executed through police. Deaths and manhandled in police custody is prohibited by law but no one follows the same . Any system that can bring about positive changes in courts dealing and executing agency/ police force will guarantee a great relief to the countrymen.
    Inflating the matter for extracting political mileage must be legally banned and be made an act punishable under the court of law.
