Though the Delhi police data indicate that such incidents have come down with only 15 cases happening daily, last year in 2025 there were total 5,406 cases of snatchings.

In majority of such cases the victims fear to lodge complaints or are discouraged as alleged chances of reprisals are much from the side of the snatchers who are loaded with desi katta or knives while comitting these crimes.

According to one such incidents in Krishna Nagar, trans Yamuna, this morning the video of which has been posted by the victim Mr. Vikas Bagga on social media going viral, when this gentleman was accompanying his daughter to school all of a sudden two persons in two wheeler rapidly passed by and snatched his chain. Mr. Bagga raised voice ,tried to aware people and even followed them till Kadkardooma and finally when the robbers were afraid they threw the chain throwing a stone at him absconded turning towards Kondli said the victim. Another witness to this crime was also going with his child to school who saw this incident and raised noise and threw his car key bunch on them. When this was going on the robbers had pointed a pistol towards them but when the bunch of keys was thrown it hit their pistol which fell in the ground. Since Bagga was already chasing them , they had no chance to retrieve their pistol which they left behind. Immensely terrified Bagga blamed the police and the Delhi rulers for not being vigilant and active to control these chain snatchers saying that since the new government arrived in Delhi, the law and order situation has been deteriorated with snatchers having no terror of the police or law and committing crimes seamlessly in the open day light carrying pistols dnd knives with them.

The matter was reported to the local police which came on the spot of the crime and took the pistol in their possession and is closely monitoring the case with assurance to nab the culprits at the earliest.

The brave father Mr. Bagga has even noted the number of the two wheeler making it easier for the police to nab the culprits and bring them to justice at the earliest.
