A five months old infant from Uttarakhand, now in the national capital with his distressed parents wIth three holes in his heart is desPerstely awaiting an open heart surgery but in the Cardiothoracic department of All India Institute of medical sciences the doctors / cardiac surgeon couldn’t give him early date OF OPERATION as the waiting list is too long.
The parents of the five month old heart patient say that the regional doctor of Uttarakhand has asked them to reach Delhi for immediate surgery as the delay may prove fatal for sure.
The parents are not at all financially sound otherwise they would have approached the high profile private hospitals for the immediate surgery and the infant would have been cured by now, but being poor is a biggest curse innthe society.
The parents after immense efforts could succeed in getting the admission card and check ups of the infant in AIIMS earlier running from one doctor to another.
They were first asked to donate the blood which has been completed. Now the dates of surgery are not being given.
The health condition of the infant is deteriorating badly and the early surgery is mandatory.
The infant is being treated in the AIIMS cardiothoracic clinic of Dr. Talwar and Dr. Navnita.
There already a long list of patients awaiting surgery of heart at AIIMS as this being the oldest medical institution and hospital , the patients from all over India turn up here in large numbers.

The matter is of faith and trust.
Hence the list of expectants is long taking time and surgeons compelled to accord long dates. A gentleman in AIIMS had been trying his best but couldn’t succeed as the list of patients to undergo surgery is unending and approaching Surgeon Professor Talwar is beyond anyone’s capacity in the AIIMS staff. So everyone has raised their hands up. God save the child. Amen.

The AIIMS Cardiothoracic Department shoild prioritise such serious cases of heart surgeries of the infants and operate them at the earliest as it concerns the invaluable lives of the critically ill infants as in this case in particular.
