Operation Prahar commenced in Dehradun prior to the visit of Prime minister Narendra Modi



In view of the media hype regarding the deteriorating law and order situation in the state capital Dehradun in the recent past after several murders taking place , the entire police machinery under the stewardship of a capable officer the SSP Dehradun Pramendra Dobal has started ” OPERATION PRAHAR” on the law breakers and criminals by increasing their police petrol and several other outstanding steps to neutralise the crime and criminals in Dehradun.
Operation Prahar is being implemented on a wide and effective scale under the SSP’s leadership in entire Dehradun 24×7 to ensure that crime is controlled to the core.
According to sources the SSP Pramendra Dobal himself is leading the team at ground zero and has been instructed to take effective action against individuals involved in illegal activitiesby the top authorities.
Intensive checking against individuals involved in illegal activities and suspected sellers including 100% verification of outsiders in view of the upcoming VVIP visit
strict, action against pick and choose, overyielding, and race driving
surprise inspections of hotels, restaurants, pubs, and bars are being conducted extensively.
Under operation Prahar the police is ensuring that strict action is taken on wrong doers and criminals as below : Intensive crackdown on individuals involved in illegal activities.
100% verification of outbound sales in view of the upcoming VVIP movement.
Strict action against ink and drink, over-yielding, and race-driving.
Surprise inspections of hotels, restaurants, pubs, and bars. Action against rule violators. Doon Police has appealed to the general public to strictly follow the rules and immediately report suspicious activities to the police including cooperating in the verification process.
Doon Police say that this campaign against crime and illegal activities will continue for long.
It may be recalled that prime minister Narendra Modi is visiting Dehradun on April 14 to address a large gathering.
The elections are few months ahead to be held in 2027 in Uttarakhand and the prime minister’s visit to Dehradun seems to be commencement of BJP’s election campaigning where it is believed that he may announce several developmental schemes for the state.
