Galgotias University claims the Chinese Dog Robot as their own creation. Had to apologise publicly. Asked to vacate the AI Summit venue
The AI Summit at Bharat Mandapam organised by much fanfare inaugurated by prime minister Narendra Modi with hundreds of start ups participating in it has become a laughing stock after one of the universities ‘ Galgotias “, presented a Chinese Robot as their own with our ministers lauding it and backing n patronizing the Galgotias University contribution in inventing and innovating this unique Robot which is being sold on line for 2800 dollars invented and manufactured by Chinese.
Sounds shocking that a Private University so authentically claims a Chinese Robot as their own creation publicly and when it goes in social media widely the Chinese government contradicts it officially and several facebook users as well, thus making an open mockery of AI Summit where countrymen are being misguided and misinformed with lies and rhetoric.
After the Galgotias University”s flamboyant Ms Neha claimed this Chinese Robot as their invention and emphasizing that Galgotias have spent Rs. 350 crores on various inventions and innovations at AI Summit , the very first social media user to contradict with proof was Mr. Sharma from his X handle who wrote : Galgotias University again. Showcased a commercially available $ 2800 Robot as an Alternative Breakthrough. No evidence of Rs. 350 R&D. This is how credibility erodes. Stop embarrassing India on the World stage wrote Mr. Sharma on his X handle.
This tweet of contradiction was followed by the Chinese Pulse who came out with their contradiction of Galgotias claim of their Robot claiming it as ORIAN and their invention on X – writing : JUST IN:

at the Al Summit in Delhi wrote Chinese Pulse contradicting the Galgotias University.
The Leader of the Opposition and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was also forthright in contradicting it and opposing. He wrote : Instead of leveraging India’s talent and data, the Al summit is a disorganised PR spectacle – Indian data up for sale, Chinese products showcased. The Congress party came out criticizing the AI Summit writing on X : The Modi government has made a laughing stock of India globally, with regard to Al.
In the ongoing Al summit, Chinese robots are being displayed as our own. The Chinese media has mocked us. This is truly embarrassing for India.
What is even more shameful is the fact that Modi’s minister Ashwini Vaishnaw is indulging in the same falsehood, promoting China’s robots at the Indian summit said the Congress.
After the eruption of this controversy created by the Galgotias University and the entire media coming down heavily on them and making mockery of the AI Summit the Galgotias were shown the door at the AI Summit 2026 at Mandapam. The professor who created the controversy by her irresponsible claims now goes into damage control saying that her statement has been misinterpreted. Galgotias University has come out with an apology regarding the Chinese robot dog controversy. The university unambiguously said that a representative at its stall at the AI Summit made false statements on camera due to a lack of information, despite not having the authority to speak to the media.
