Several feet Snow at Bhararisain, the Gairsain assembly precincts with people playing Volleyball and enjoying making reels

The magnificent Gairsain Asssembly and is precincts built at the height of 7,800 feet from the sea level witnessed tremendous snow of several feets with tourists, locals or the employees seen playing volleyball and making videos on the snow bed enjoying to the hilt. The building with superb architectural foundation was built on the orders of the then chief minister Vijay Bahuguna during the Congress regime for which initially Rs. 500 crores were sanctioned and was later on made a Summer capital where few budgets were passed to satisfy the people of Uttarakhand demanding Gairsain to be made the permanent capital of Uttarakhand for which determined Uttarakhand movement activist Baba Mohan Singh has already Sacrificed his prevlcious life by undertaking about hundred days hunger strike to get this demand fulfilled but after hundreds of protest demonstrations and rhetorics of the leaders of both Congress and BJP assuring to make Gairsain the permanent capital it couldn’t be declared as the permanent capital. A new massive movement however is building up under the leadership of former bureaucrats Anil Raturi who is organising massive rallies in various parts of Uttarakhand, Dehradun, Delhi etc and mobilising people on a massive scale for Gairsain to be declared as the permanent capital including tremendous publicity on social media. The Congress party and its leaders too had while in opposition tried to cash on this issue politically to acknowledge dividend but of no avail. The bureaucrats and even leaders of Uttarakhand of both the national parties are apprehensive to go to Gairsain because of the chilling cold weather at Bhararisain being at three thousand metres height and in the middle of Garhwal and Kumaon finding it difficult for their Families and children including themselves who are fully prone to work from Dehradun capital which is fully equipped with comforts and luxuries.

It may be recalled that the demand to make Gairsain as the permanent capital of Uttarakhand was in the manifesto of the Uttarakhand Kranti Dal, the regional political outfit since day one when the movement for separate state commenced in 1992 onwards with forty three sacrifices and umpteen protest demonstrations, sit ins, rallies, with thousands of activists going behind bars, harrassed and victimised etc in various parts of Uttarakhand and metropolises like Delhi , Mumbai and in several states of the country.

After the formation of the state on 9 th November, 2000, the two national parties rhetorically have been assuring to fulfill this demand but always backed out when in power.

However, the the Congress CM Vijay Bahuguna did took the initiative to built the assembly and then followed the trend of holding summer assembly sessions etc followed by Harish Rawat, the then CM and then the BJP government to suppress the agitationists demanding making it a permanent capital of Uttarakhand. Instead a new parallel assembly project is also underway to continue it in Dehradun which is not acceptable to majority of the populace of Uttarakhand.
