Bhagat Singh Koshiyari to be awarded prestigious Padma Bhushan

The announcement of the name of the former Governor of Maharashtra and former Uttarakhand CM including Rajya Sabha MP Bhagat Singh Koshiyari has sent a wave of jubilance among the BJP and RSS circles including his fraternity.
Former three months CM of Uttarakhand and Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshiyari was also credited for being a controversial CM for putting the breakaway section of Shiv Sena ( Thakrey) Shinde on the saddle of power in Maharashtra arbitrarily and speaking against Shivaji Maharaj and Mahatma Phule.
However this announcement is not only a tribute to a senior politician, but also a public acceptance of that philosophy of life in which simplicity, equanimity, organizational strength and national service were given top priority.
The entire life of Bhagat Singh Koshyari, popularly known as ‘Bhagatda’ among the people, is an example of the fact that even while in power, if one maintains distance from ego and closeness to the people, then the leader becomes one of the people.
His life was imbued with the spirit of Karma Yoga. He always prioritized action and left the results to God, embodying this message of the Gita in his conduct.
Meanwhile the senior leader and vociferous MP of Shiv Sena Sanjay Raut has strongly criticized the decision of the central government to award prestigious Padma Bhushan saying that Modi government awarded Bhagat Singh Koshiyari Padma Vibhushan for killing the democracy and Constitution in Maharashtra.
He said that honouring a person who had undignified and hurt Maharashtra’s pride sends a wrong message by disrespecting the feeling of Maharashtrians. He added that Bhagat Singh Koshiyari has earlier hurt the sentiments of the people of Maharashtra by speaking against Shivaji Maharaj and Mahatma Phule. Sanjay Raut said that prestigious awards like Padma Bhushan are accorded to personalities who Unite the society across spectrum and respect the public emotions n sentiments.
Koshiyari who served as the governor of Maharashtra from 2019 to 2023 was the chief minister of Uttarakhand for merely three months as second chief minister of Uttarakhand from 2001 to 2002. He also served as the MLC in undivided Uttarakhand Pradesh and former state president of Uttarakhand.
