97 lakhs votes deleted from Voters list in Tamil Nadu and 74 lakhs in Gujarat during SIR says Dr. Yogendra Yadav

The Special Intensive Revision of Electoral Rolls in various states of the country is vigorously being undertaken by the election Commission of India and the opposition parties and a Civil Society group comprising of Dr. Yogendra Yadav of Swaraj India , Prashant Bhushan eminent advocate of Supreme Court who is extremely vociferous including several others are expressing their tremendous concern and annoyance over the massive cutting of the names of genuine voters arbitrarily thus making them rid to exercise their constitutional right to vote, from their electoral rolls.
The chief of the Swaraj India and renowned sephologist Dr. Yogendra Yadav while expressing his immense reservation on SIR said that the adverse results of the arbitrary SIR has always been witnessed in Bihar and now its being conducted forcefully in entire India making crores of people rid of their constitutional rights to vote.
He said- it is highly worrisome that the pious constitutional rights of the electorates are being unconstitutionally snatched from the voters of the country by deducting their names from electoral rolls on massive scale.
To substantiate his statement Dr. Yogendra Yadav said that in a single state of TAMILNADU an unbelievable 97 lakh voters have been devoid of their constitutional rights to vote as their names have been cut from the voters list.
This huge 97 lakh numbers ( names) being deducted arbitrarily from the voters list of Tamilnadu has shaken one and all. This has never happened earlier after independence in any state of the country.
Many countries of the world don’t have the population of 97 lakhs meaning that the voters of a nation have been made rid of their constitutional rights to vote.
He said that in Gujarat too 74 lakhs voters name have been deleted from voters list under the Special Intensive Revision process and about 6.5 crores of people at the pan India level in the first round will be made rid to vote after their names are deleted during the first round of SIR.
HE added further that if UP is included about three crores more voters names would be deleted in the second list. This means that in all about ten crores of the voters will be missed from voters list after the completion of SIR in the country.
Speaking to the media after a conference of NO SIR held at Constitution Club Dr. Yogendra Yadav said that the Election Commission and the ruling political dispensation are openly in league and involved in this arbitrary process of massively deleting the names of genuine voters from the electoral rolls.
Accepting that this has not taken the shape of the movement Dr. Yadav catagorically said that despite all this we are doing our level best to mobilise public opinion at the pan India level through seminars, talks and propaganda through social media including our legal fight in the supreme Court.
Another activist of the civil Society group active in No-SIR campaign Ms.Anjali said that she is shocked and stunned to learn from the principal secretary of Elections commission against her RTI query to hand her the file regarding SIR, that the Election Commission has never taken any initiative for SIR. It it is so then who is conducting the SIR so ferociously at the an India level asked Ms.Anjali while responding to the question of a journalist at Constitution club.
