A brutal murder of a journalist leave several question marks behind
The matter of the brutal murder of a journalist in Dehradun is gaining lot of attention and momentum.
The post mortem of his dead body has been done for the second time and this raises several questions.
The journalist Pankaj Mishra was attacked at his residence and thrashed badly hitting him on his chest, abdomen and other vital parts of the body. His mobile phone and that of his wife who was also injured in the melee and attack and admitted in a doon hospital were snatched by the attackers who are also believed to be journalists the main culprit being Amit Sehgal,named in the FIR lodged by the brother of the deceased journalist.
The entire case seems to be quite controversial and allegedly gives the impression of well connected people associated behind the entire conspiracy that led to the murder of a journalist.
According to the face book post of the deceased journalist which was later on withdrawn from FB ( raises several questions) since he is a daily habitual drinker, some of the people made him drink and then manipulated his Facebook account posting a highly derogatory post against CM and higher ups on his FB timeline. The deceased while alive tendered apology on the FACEBook post saying that he can’t even in his dreams used derogatory comments for honourable CM whom he always respected and considered as Dhakad Dhami. He had threatened to expose those who allegedly were from his fraternity so as to clear his name from his misdeed which actually was not done by him. He says that after making him drink these persons ousted the derogatory post in my name to defame him and make him the target with an ulterior motive. This post was later on withdrawn from the FB. After this post some disgruntled elements enter Mishra’s house and thrash him badly hitting him with legs and punches over his stomach and chest knowing very well that he is a patient of diabeties, liver ailment and blood pressure etc. The deceased journalist’s wife was also thrashed and admitted in hospital with injuries. After the attackers left his house, journalist Pankaj groaning in pain collapsed and died. An FIR was lodged in the police station naming Amit Sehgal who is absconding by the deceased journalists brother. There is tremendous sensitisation and panic in Dehradun and journalistic’ circles. The leader of the unemployed youth, Uttarakhand Swabhimaan Sena Bobby Pawar posted in facebook writing in Hindi: Is this the punishment for those who speak out against the government?
The written complaint filed by journalist Pankaj Mishra’s brother not only proves that Pankaj Mishra was murdered, but also proves that he was not murdered,Rather, there is also a suspicion that Pankaj Mishra ji did not remove the post written about the Chief Minister, his favorite officers and some other people.
There is also a suspicion that after the post was removed, an apology was not written by Pankaj Mishra ji through another post.
There is also a doubt that whether the people whose names have been mentioned in the post have any role in the conspiracy of this incident or not?
There should be a fair and high level investigation.

Based on a written complaint from the deceased journalist’s brother, the police have registered a case against the accused under sections 103, 304, 333 and 352 of the Indian Penal Code (BNS), 2023. Dehradun Police is investigating the case.
