Renowned Bollywood veteran actor having worked in 125 Bollywood Hindi movies Achyut Poddar passes away at 91
Renowned veteran Bollywood versatile actor having acted in 125 hindi movies and ninety five television serials, 25 plays and 45 advertisement films Achyut Poddar has breathed his last at the age of 91 in Jupiter hospital Mumbai on Tuesday morning due to age related ailments. Born in the year 1934 in Jabalpur Central province during the British era he served in Indian Army from 1962 to 1967 as Captain having joined theatre and film industry thereafter. He also served as professor in Rewa university before joining the Indian Army. Joining Bollywood at the age of 44 years Poddar pursued acting as his serious hobby getting fixed characters in producer , director Vinod Viddu Chopras films. A known face of Indian Telivision and Bollywood films doing role of senior characters in his latest films include Dabang 2 , Farari ki Sawari, and three idiots having also acted in Pradhanmantri television serial in the role of leader of the total revolution during 1975 Jai Prakash Narayan Achyut Poddar who worked in total 125 films mamy of them are LAGE RAHO MUNNABHAI, 1992 Humlaa

Achyut Poddar was awarded number of times. On 16 August 2015, Sanand, a cultural group in Indore, felicitated Achyut Potdar with Lifetime Achievement Award for his career, marking several decades, in Bollywood and remarkable contribution to the field of Art. He received Zee Marathi Jeevan Gaurav Puraskar in 2021 for playing the role of Appa in the television serial Majha Hoshil Na. The vaccum left by Achyut Poddar in Mumbai film industry is difficult to be filled.
It may be recalled that Achyuta Potdar celebrated his 90th birthday with great pomp last year. Jackie Shroff also attended that celebration and then Achyuta Potdar ji’s biography was also released.
According to Kissa TV In the same program, Achyuta ji’s daughter Anuradha Paraskar ji launched his biography. This biography has been written by Anuradha Paraskar ji. Its name is “Achyuta Potdar: Simplicity, Resilience and Contentment.” Jackie Shroff unveiled this book.
