Veteran Bollywood actor, producer Dheeraj Kumar breathed his last at the age of 79 in Mumbai in Kokila Ben Hospital where he was admitted after suffering from Pneumonia going in a ventilator. The death of the renowned actor and producer has sent shock waves in Mumbai and Bollywood. A Roti Kapada aur Makaan fame actor Dheeraj Kumar who has started his Television serials company known as a created Eye Limited in 1986 had acted in several Bollywood movies like Roti Kapada Aur Makaan with legendary actor Manoj Kumar and several other movies like Swami, Heera Panna, Raton Ka Hai aja, Shriman Shrimati etc. In 1965, Kumar was one of the finalists in a talent show organized by the United Producers and Filmfare. The other finalists included Subhash Ghai and Rajesh Khanna, Rajesh Khanna was the eventual winner. This helped him launch himself in movies, while simultaneously acting as a model in advertisements including those for Vicks Action 500.He acted in 21 Punjabi films from 1970 to 1984 and started a production company, Creative Eye and is its chairman and managing director. In the film Swami (1977), the song “Ka Karoon Sajani, Aaye Na Balam” was picturised on him. He has also worked in other films like Heera Panna, Raaton Ka Raja (where he was the leading man), Shreeman Shrimati etc. The sudden death of this great actor is a huge loss to Bollywood and the television industry difficult to be filled.
