Cloud bursts, excessive rains, overflooding of rivers, massive landslides, leading to human mortalities and massive collateral damages as well. The traffic in eighty percent of Uttarakhand’s Garhwal and Kumaon division have been disturbed , jammed for hours together. The roads are damaged, movement of the traffic and commuters adversely affected. There are boulders falling and killing and injuring commuters with their cars badly damaged. Trees are falling in the way. Village house are being drowned and swept away, vehicles coming into the trap of overflooding rivers and rivulets and life almost at standstill in interior Uttarakhand. Even the gateway to Garhwal not spared during these massive rains. According to a senior journalist of Uttarakhand living in Kotdwar , Garhwal : Kotdwar’s road connectivity with the plains has been disrupted once again. The Kotdwar-Najibabad national highway has been closed once again due to the damage of the culvert along with the approach road due to the heavy flow of water in the rain drain today. As a result, the situation like yesterday has arisen again. There is a long traffic jam due to vehicles stuck on both sides. After a lot of effort, traffic was restored on this route late last evening and it took till late night for the jam that had been there all day yesterday to clear. Due to the rain since this morning, road connectivity of Kotdwar has once again been cut off from the plains including Najibabad.
