SEVERAL LABOURERS AT WORK ON HELANG MARVARI BYPASS RUN AWAY TO SAVE THEIR LIVES AFTER MASSIVE LANDSLIDE CREATED HAVOC
The so called environmentally unfriendly development in Uttarakhand has literally made the already fragile hills completely hollow from inside leading to massive landslides due to badly dithering mountains.
Never had Uttarakhand witnessed such a massive destruction in the name of so called development when lakhs of fully grown trees have been cut mercilessly, mountains exploded by powerful dynamites, smoothly running Alaknanda and Bhagirathi including the Ganges badly polluted by lakhs of tons of silt, dust, Rocky boulders clandestinely thrown into them adversely affecting the smooth flow and digging tunnels from Rishikesh to Karnaprayag making the already hollow mountains more hollow in the Zone 5 Garhwal, Uttarakhand which is already prone to future tectonic upheavals of gigantic proposition as warned by renowned earth scientists n seismologists.
The subsidence of entire holy town and gateway to Badrinath and Hemkunt Sahib, Joshimath is already the massive victim of about thousand houses, hotels and buildings developing huge cracks not fit to live in including Subsidence of grave nature already making their lives miserable.
Several earth scientists, seismologists and experts have already been to Joshimath and had warned about the so called anti and unfriendly environmental development of all weather roads and railway project of the government from Rishikesh to Karnaprayag including construction of heavy projects of hydropower by NTPC and NHPC etc.
Since there have been umpteen number of landslides and wiping out of several villages in Tehri Garhwal during the monsoons not only blocking Badrinath Kedarnath Highways with blockages and landslides at nine points, in entire Uttarakhand the cloud burst incidents , over flooding during monsoons and uncontrolled landslides have literally created havoc giving future warning signals of more disastrous catastrophe in the offing.
But our ruling political dispensation is busy invading the chest of mountains by exploding them day in and day out mercilessly with mountains massively falling down due to landslides warning the powers that be to give up playing with the nature.
Just today near Joshimath a havoc of landslide has literally shown its angry face where several labourers working in Helang Marwari project could luckily save their lives running several metres away in desperation under immense panicky situation.
According to the latest news before Joshimath if one takes a look at the new era of development on the Helang-Marwari bypass he or she will be shockingly surprised to see a dangerous landslide that occurred below Selang village at the construction site, the machine got buried and the workers ran away to save their lives.
People say that dynamite is being used indiscriminately to cut the mountain here, otherwise how can such a big landslide happen in this season when there is no rain?
This is just one instance” a tip of an iceberg”, whereas in Uttarakhand in various projects the mountains are being illegally crushed, exploded and dithered by dynamites making the already fragile mountains and ecology of hills completely damaging resulting in massive breaking of mountains and subsequent landslides. If we go to the hills of Uttarakhand we’ll find at every nook and corner, landslides, and mountains dug everywhere as if the contractors and the powers that be have literally dug every part of green mountains given the impression as if we have come at a war zone not the green , serene hills of Uttarakhand.
