Harish Rawat and Trivendra Rawat rebuke DGP Uttarakhand for his statement urging political leaders not to criticize them instead boost their morale
In Uttarakhand while the law and order situation is in jeopardy and leaders of both rulling and opposition leaders like former CM Harish Rawat, Karan Mahara, Ganesh Godiyal etc of Congress and former CM Dr. Ramesh Pokhariyal Nishank and Trivendra Singh Rawat, MP Haridwar and ex CM of BJP have been criticizing the police department for the law and order situation going out of hand with a dacoity committed in Haridwar involving theft of jewels and cash worth several crores of rupees , cases of rapes and murders including brutal attack on journalists etc taking place annoying the general masses, the Uttarakhand DGP IPS Abhinav Kumar has again disenchanted and annoyed leaders of both the parties who came down heavily on the recent statement of his saying in media that while the Uttarakhand police is the centre of criticism by these leaders but they should also respect the Uttarakhand police and boost their morale rather than criticizing them though he honours their right to criticise in democracy.
The DGP of Uttarakhand Abhinav Kumar was addressing the media on Haridwar dacoity case etc. the other day.
Few days ago while the Congress leaders have strongly criticized the ruling political dispensation and police for the law and order situation deteriorating in the state, the BJP leaders and former CM Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank and Trivendra Singh Rawat , MP has also criticised the police for lacking on this front especially when there were three incidents of rapes and a murder in Rudrapur, Dehradun Bus station and Haridwar including massive attack on a journalist by the liquor mafia n Haridwar dacoity involving several crores of rupees.
The former CM and Haridwar MP Trivendra Singh Rawat had met the victim and severely injured journalist at AIIMS Rishikesh namely Yogesh Dimri and his family members and expressed his serious concern over the lack of law and order situation in the state.
After learning about the statement of the Uttarakhand DGP , IPS Abhinav Kumar former Uttarakhand CM Harish Rawat has smilingly ridiculed and said that after hearing the video he is of the opinion that after retirement Abhinav Kumar should join Congress and we will welcome him.
On the other hand when the former CM and Haridwar MP Trivendra Singh Rawat was asked about the statement of Abhinav Kumar, IPS DGP giving advise to politicians of Uttarakhand to praise the police than to criticize them ,he catagorically said that though he has not heard or seen the video but if it is so the DGP SHOULD LIVE/ WORK IN HIS LIMIT ( DGP ko apne daaire mein rehna hoga). This statement of Trivendra Singh Rawat is a categorical warning to him to maintain law and order situation in the state than to advising politicians if they criticize the police department for their alleged failure of law and order machinery in the state.
