One killed , several vehicles damaged after heavy boulders fell on them on way to Gangotri
Not a day is left when there is no deadly accident in Uttarakhand. These accidental tragedies have rather become the order of the day. Both the Garhwal and Kumaon divisions are confronting these tragic accidental cases. The major accidents are reported while the minors are not.
Similarly brutal deaths by maneater leopards have also become the order of the day with children and women becoming their deadly victims. The ecological disasters too are common occurance. Just in a week’s time there had been two major cloudburst incidents leading extensive damage to houses and the domestic pets buried under the debris. In Uttarkashi, Purola, Mori village 15 houses have been burnt to ashes extensively. The sequel never stops and mishappenings probably seems to be terribly destined.
Just today yet another dready tragedy occured in Garhwal, Uttarakhand when a major accident occured near Dabrani on Gangotri National Highway in Uttarkashi where many vehicles were crushed due to falling of rocks and big holders from above. One person is reportedly died in this catastrophic tragedy and many injured.
At present, pilgrims going to Gangotri have been stopped on the way as a precaution as the entire road has been damaged and terribly blocked by small and big boulders. Though not confirmed but few might have been injured as a car was overturned badly , few vehicles damaged and stationed in the way and a motorbike badly damaged. The rescue team of SDRF, BRO team and the local police have reached the spot. The BRO work is going on on full swing.
