Swati Maliwal, MP files a detailed written complaint against Kejrival’s associate. FIR lodged
The former chairperson of Delhi Commission for Women who has been quite vociferous on women centric issues and Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal has given a two and a half page written complaint to the civil lines police station against the private secretary to the chief minister ( terminated by the services department recently) Biplab Kumar accusing him for slapping and thrashing her last Monday when she was sitting in the drawing room of the chief minister’s civil lines official residence to meet him.
In her complaint filed with the Delhi Police on Thursday evening Swati Maliwal has said that while she was waiting to meet the chief minister at his house the PS Bibhav Kumar came to her and started abusing and beating her. She resisted and came out in fear and called the police control room on 112 number and later on went to police station, but after some time had come back saying that she will soon return as she wasn’t interested to politicise the issue.
According to the news reports yesterday in the afternoon the Delhi police special Cell officials have come to Maliwal’s official residence and spoke to her regarding the entire incident taking her detailed statement , staying there for over four hours. The special Cell additional commissioner himself went to Maliwal’s house to acknowledge the statement about the alleged misconduct and physical assault on her at Delhi CM’s residence.
In a message on her social media platform Swati Maliwal said : What happened to me was very bad. I have given my statement to the police on the incident that happened to me. I hope that appropriate action will be taken. The last few days have been very difficult for me. I thank those who prayed for me. Those who tried to do character assassination, said that she was doing it on the instructions of the other party, may God keep them happy too. An important election is going on in the country, Swati Maliwal is not important, the issues of the country are important. There is a special request to BJP people to not do politics on this incident said former DCW chief on X.
Meanwhile, yesterday when Delhi CM Arvind Kejrival was addressing a press conference with Samajwadi Party chief and former CM Akhilesh Yadav some journalist posed questions regarding Maliwal issue and the Delhi CM couldn’t answer, finally Akhilesh Yadav taking the Mike from Arvind Kejrival and Sanjay Singh speaking, accusing the BJP for exploiting this issue whereas they are mum on Manipur situation and Prajwal Revanna case said Sanjay Singh.
The BJP however is trying to take full advantage of this issue accusing Delhi CM Arvind Kejrival for insulting woman and its own important MP.
The Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva has been issuing statements one after another and trying to put the AAP leaders in a corner on this issue.
In one of the statements Sachdeva said : We know that Bibhav Kumar is Arvind Kejrival’s associate and handled all his works … Who instigated him ? Who gave him the directions ? All this should be investigated. It would have been better if Sanjay Singh himself went to …
Sanjay Singh had earlier just after the incident held a brief press conference and condemned this incident assuring Swati Maliwal that the Delhi CM has taken cognisance of the matter and shall stringently punish the guilty.
What is important to note here that Delhi CM Arvind Kejrival is not speaking on this issue and trying to hush it up.
Rather he is busy extensively campaigning for his party candidate and drawing huge crowds. The Rajya Sabha MP Maliwal too is not speaking anything against him and is reposting his every post of X. Today she posted Kejriwal’s pictures n messages on her X handle in which Arvind Kejrival is seen campaigning in favour of his candidate in South Delhi drawing a massive crowd.
