The former Congress chief and Gandhi family scion Rahul Gandhi and the Gandhi family loyalist K. L. Sharma today filed nomination papers from Rae Bareilly and Amethi, both the Congress strongholds in the presence of Sonia Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Robert Vadra. The nominations were filed amid presence of hundreds of Congress and Gandhi family followers with Priyanka Gandhi confidently saying that they are winning both the seats with a handsome margin. The Prime minister Narendra Modi while addressing a public meeting ridiculed Rahul Gandhi saying that fearing his likely defeat from Wayanad, Kerala he has now filed his nomination from Rae Bareilly. Prime minister Narendra Modi also took a dig at Sonia Gandhi saying that she too was afraid of losing from Rae Bareilly and went to Rajasthan to come in Rajya Sabha from the backdoor. Smriti Irani on the other hand ridiculing Rahul Gandhi said that first Rahul Gandhi ran away from Amethi and went to Wayanad, Kerala but now he has again run away from both the places , Wayanad and Amethi. She asked now what will he answer to the electorates of Rae Bareilly ? Not only PM Modi and Smriti Irani but the union home minister Amit Shah has also made mockery of Rahul Gandhi saying that Modiji has sent the Chandrayaan on the very first attempt to Moon but Congress leader Sonia Gandhi despite her several attempts couldn’t launch the Rahul ticket further saying that first he ran away from Amethi to Kerala, Wayanad, but now against to Rae Bareilly fearing his defeats from here. Meanwhile, Priyanka Gandhi while addressing a gathering at Amethi in support of the party’s official candidate Kishori Lal Sharma, said that the Gandhi family have been serving the people of Amethi for the last more than four decades and Kishori Lal Nehru who’d been serving them with us, is today the party’s official candidate. Priyanka while urging them to vote for him said that she will be in Amethi with him all along urging them to vote for Mr. Kishori Lal Sharma in Amethi and Rahulji from Rae Bareilly. She said that we want to bring the politics of truth and service to Amethi and Rae Bareilly. She said they are winning elections on money power, but we want to win it for peoplesy service and welfare with their overall support and blessings. It may be recalled that there were tremendous demand for Rahul Gandhi from Amethi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra from Rae Bareilly , both the strongholds of Congress and Nehru Gandhi family but due to her preoccupations in campaigning Priyanka Gandhi has given up the party’s request to contest. Had Priyanka got the ticket she would have been tied up and confined to one constituency.
