It may be recalled that the second phase of voting is underway and by the time of writing this news on an average 10%. Voting had taken place in 88 constituencies of the 13 states and union territories by 10 in the morning. Over 1200 candidates are in the fray in 13 states n union territories with all the 20 seats in Kerala, 14 out of the total 28 seats in Karnataka, 13 seats in Rajasthan, 8 seats each in Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh, 5 seats each in Assam and Bihar, 3 seats each in Chhattisgarh and West Bengal and ine seat each in Manipur , Tripura, Jammu and Kashmir going to polls today since early morning. The first phase of elections for 102 seats across 21 states and union territories were held on 19 April. Meanwhile, it is for the very first time that the election commission of India has issued notices to both prime minister Narendra Modi and Rahul Gandhi under Section 77 of the Representation of People’s Act holding them responsible/ accountable for defying the code of conduct while delivering their respective speeches during the campaign. The election commission has directed the poll bosses of the two major parties BJP and Congress JP Nadda and Mallikarjun Kharge to submit their responses by 11.00 on Friday. The union home minister has categorically said that after 4 th June the country will see Narendra Modi becoming PM for the third time as the entire countrymen are with him.
