CONTEST BETWEEN KANAHIYA KUMAR AND MP (SINGER) MANOJ TIWARI TO BE INTERESTING
After giving the ticket to the incharge of the students wing of Congress, National Students Union of India ( NSUI) and the former dashing and vociferous JNU leader with strong left leanings, earlier proactive in CPI and its student wing AISF – Kanahiya Kumar despite strong internal opposition and keeping aside the screening committee’s recommendation , the Congress high command has pitted him, a vociferous young leader against the two time sitting MP from North East Delhi parliamentary seat namely Manoj Tiwari who is not only extremely popular among the Poorvanchali voters due to his sonorous voice as a renowned singer but also being from Bihar commands tremendous adoration in this community to a great extent.
The entry of the defeated CPI candidate from Begusarai, Bihar in 2019 by BJP heavyweight and union minister Giriraj Singh, to North East Delhi as Congress candidate Kanahiya Kumar against Manoj Tiwari of BJP, the star singer definitely is in immense doldrums.
According to the political analysts Manoj Tiwari has a strong anti incumbency factor going against him being the MP for ten years.
In addition to this, the massive number of Poorvanchali voters on which he used to bank majorly will be divided into half , may be vociferous youth leader Kanahiya Kumar may grab the major share of it by his dashing speech and logical address.
In addition to this, the minority voters are in large numbers in this constituency which are bound to go in favour of Congress in addition to the youth voters including the votes of working class being his left background in the recent past.
It is believed that during the last ten years Manoj Tiwari has not been much accessible to his electorates especially in the latest five year term which may probably go against him.
Moreover, the Kejrival sympathy factor may also go in favour of Kanahiya Kumar whose fiery speeches will be a source of immense attraction, interest and inspiration for young voters in particular.
There are reports that the screening committee had recommended the name of Delhi Congress chief Arvinder Singh Lovely from North East parliamentary constituency and Rajkumar Chouhan from outer Delhi but the party high command chose to sideline the screening committee decision to declare the names of Kanahiya Kumar and Udit Raj , both of whom had joined Congress leaving CPI and BJP expressing their total faith in the leadership of Rahul Gandhi.
On the ticket of veteran Congress leader and three term MP from Chandni Chowk earlier Jai Prakash Aggrawal’s name, there was total unanimity as the veteran leader’s reputation is outstanding not only among the trading community of Chandni Chowk but also among the general electorates.
Veteran former MP Jai Prakash Aggrawal is pitted against Praveen Khandelwal of BJP who replaced the BJP heavy weight and former minister and MP Dr.Harshvardhan.
It may be recalled that the BJP has been winning on all the seats of Delhi since the last ten years and the saffron party’s top leadership had changed its candidates replacing former eminent cricketer Gautam Gambhir from East Delhi , former MP Ramesh Biduri from South Delhi and New Delhi MP and minister Meenakshi Lekhi , Dr. Harvardhan frm Chandni Chowk and Hans Raj Hans from North West Delhi. The party was afraid of anti incumbency hence it changed majority of them.
