MAMA SHAKUNI DIES OF KIDNEY AND HEART FAILURE AT THE AGE OF 79.RIP
Mama SHAKUNI, Gufi Paintal of the most popular epic television serial Mahabharata had died on 5 th June and cremated at Oshiwara crematorium, Mumbai in the evening with his brother Kanwarjit Paintal, his son Harry Paintal, Arjun of Mahabharat and close relatives including his fans literally in tears. Seventy nine years old renowned actor Gufi Paintal died of heart and kidney ailments after prolonged illness in a Mumbai hospital. According to the latest news quoting Nitish Bharadwaj his co star who played the lead role of Lord Krishna in the super hit religious historic epic MAHABHARATA – GUFI PAINTAL was a star with jolly and mixing nature who played the unique role of Mama SHAKUNI with regular pain in his hips and carrying limp. While talking to media, Nitish Bharadwaj said that he used to approach the casting director of Mahabharat GUFI PAINTAL with his pictures requesting him to give him some work and he would respond that he will definitely do something. It was because of his initiative and support that he got the role of Lord Krishna convincing Ravi Chopra to do the needful. GUFI PAINTAL apart from having acted in the unique role OF MAMA SHAKUNI in “Mahabharata”, also acted in several Bollywood movies and TV serials, some of them being : Shhh Shah shhha koi Hai, Mrs Kaushik ki Panch Bahuven, and CID. Chaitanya Maha Prabhu serial was his directorial debut. Having worked in Dillagi, Desh Pardesh and, Rafoo Chakkar etc GUFI PAINTAL ‘s first movie was Rafoo Chakkar. Our heartfelt tributes.
