Another review petition filed in Apex Court in Nirbhaya of Najafgarh case.
A third review petition has been filed in the apex court by a social organisation Uttarakhand Lok Manch after two earlier review petitions one filed by the father of the deceased Nirbhaya of Najafgarh and another by Delhi Police one of the stakeholder in the said case. The third review petition was filed today in Supreme Court a month after the three accused of late KIRAN Negi were let scot free by the honourable three judge bench of Supreme Court. There had been several candle marches and protest demonstrations in Delhi n NCR demanding justice for late KIRAN Negi and death to the culprits. The supreme Court bench had found the Delhi Police investigations patchy full of loop holes and hence acquitted them scot free creating quite an annoyance in the society with questions being raised if these culprits are not the one responsible then who and where are the actual culprits ? This resulted in the largest representative social organisation of Garhwalies n Uttarakhand in Delhi Garhwal Hiteshini Sabha holding a meeting in which a legal Aid committee was formed resulting in filing of the review petition aid Delhi Police on the directives of Lt governor of Delhi also filing it. Today’s was the third review petition filed by Lok Manch. The issue of late KIRAN Negi, is gaining momentum with several selfless social organisations of Uttarakhand in Delhi holding candle marches and peaceful protests to exercise social pressure on the powers that be to help give justice to the bereaved family of the Nirbhaya of Najafgarh obnoxiously gang raped and horrendously killed on 9 th February, 2012 after being abducted from Qutab Vihar by the three culprits and gang raped in Rodhai village precincts in Haryana thereafter brutally killed with acid sprinkled in her eyes, ears damaged by screw driver n allegedly broken bottle shamefully n tortuously inserted in her private part, a most heinous crime committed killing her. The case was taken up initially by Sanjeevni NGO n it’s chief Anita Negi Gupta and followed by Uttarakhand Journalists Forum n Uttarakhand Ekta Manch etc holding protest demonstrations, sit ins, hunger strikes and candle marches at Jantar Jantar and Dwarka Court with hundreds of women of Qutub Vihar on roads demanding death to the culprits. The Dwarka, session’s Court gave death to three culprits with Delhi High Court also upholding the sentence. After ten years of further pursuance against the appeal of the culprits the Suprem Court three judge bench shockingly n surprisingly acquitted all the three culprits. It is since then that the people of Delhi, especially Uttarakhandis in Delhi and NCR are relentlessly struggling to ensure that the culprits are against put to trial and stringently punished. But unfortunately some political parties and its so called leaders with vested aims are trying to derive political advantage out of this genuine issue by taking the parents of late KIRAN Negi with them separately, not cumulatively to take credit. This is the most unfortunate part of the story. Late Nirbhaya of Najafgarh has not sacrificed herself to see political leaders with narrow bent of mind capitalise on this genuine issue. This is uncalled for inviting condemnation from various section of the society.
