GHS cautions people not to donate any money in the name of late Kiran Negi !

After the late Nirbhaya of Najafgarh case got momentum in the society in terms of cumulative protests and efforts to file a review petition in Supreme Court after the acquittal of the three prime convicts awarded capital punishment from Dwarka Court and thereafter upheld by the Delhi High Court, there are reports of an alleged organisation or person viz Change.org coming out with a petition with a heading in Hindi : Kya Aap is, petition ko charcha me in lane ke liye Rs 2,000 ka yogdaan denge ? ( Will you donate Rs 2000 to bring the petition into discussion?) Several persons who saw this petition in social media responded to it but were shocked when they were asked to deposit Rs 2000 etc. In another petition by one Dr. Madan Singh after signing the petition this author was asked to deposit Rs 600, which he didn’t do. Actually after the acquittal of the three convicts in late Kiran Negi gang rape and murder case there have been number of protest meetings and demonstrations in Delhi.

A meeting was held a few days ago to form a committee of senior advocates to file a review petition in Supreme Court under the chairmanship of the senior advocate of Delhi High Court n its elected secretary Sandeep Sharma.

The people of Uttarakhand are extremely emotional and passionate on this issue and are infuriated on the decision of the apex Court.

The judgement and the acquittal report has been taken very seriously by Uttarakhandies in Delhi in particular and right thinking populace nationally as well.

There was an appeal for commencing crowd funding initiative to finance the advocates but no decision whatsoever has been taken in this regard till yet. Nor has the aggrieved n anguished parents of late Kiran Negi has take any decision in this regard nor given consent to anyone to demand money through any means in the name of their deceased daughter.

However, the said fake signature petition demanding money started in social media doing rounds in FB, WhatsApp etc fooling people by encashing their emotions and sentiments in the name of deceased Kiran Negi.

The note forwarded by Ajay Bisht, president of Garhwal Hiteshini Sabha says No Fund is being asked for in Kiran Negi case by any organisation. Be cautious, fake link signature petitions are taking rounds in social media. It is, also asking money from people as donations, mid guiding them encashing on their emotions. Don’t pay any money not share this link as it’s fake wrote Ajay Bisht, President of Garhwal Hiteshini Sabha.

It may be recalled that such fake appeals also commenced in social media by certain elements in late Anita Bhandari case in Uttarakhand under the guise of collecting money to hire good n influential advocates etc. However, the dubious matter caught the eyes of the media n police authorities who approached the parents of late Anita who refused for having given anyone permission to do so on their behalf. The senior police officer took the matter into their hands and lodged FIRs against the guilty. The police officers also appealed to general public not to come under the influence of these fake persons prohibiting them to donate.

Meanwhile good number of women activists and men today protested outside Supreme Court to register their protests over the acquittal of the three dreaded convicts requesting ( urging) the honourable judges of apex Court to reconsider the trial and stringently punish the guilty of late Kiran Negi. They were raising slogans and had jammed the traffic for some time. They were not ready to relent shouting slogans ” Kiran Negi ke Hathyaaron ko Fasnsi do , faansi do”, n # Divangat Kiran Negi aur unless parivar ko nyay do, nyay do. The protesters were later on detained for sometime at Tilak Nagar police station n released. Prominent against those who were detained were Deepika Natalie, Prema Dhoni, Kiran Ishtwal Lakhera, Roshni Chamoli and Kusum Kandwal Bhatt of Child Rights , etc.

  1. Some unscrupulous persons take benefit of people sentiment and attachment on occurring such heinous crime and try to collect fund for self vested interested.Hence beware from such fake request.
