New Delhi, 19 March 2021: Indian Youth Congress under the leadership of its national President Srinivas BV today protested against rising inflation, petrol, diesel and gas cylinder prices.
On this occasion, the youth Congress workers went to the residences of Union ministers Dharmendra Pradhan, Smriti Irani, Ravi Shankar Prasad and Prakash Javadekar to give them bicycles, but the Delhi Police stopped them all along the way and took them into custody.
According to the IYC president the government is constantly jerking the people who have been affected by the government’s poor policies. In such an uneven situation, no government in the world would have persecuted its people as much as the Modi government is doing. Since December 1, the price of LPG has increased by ₹ 225 so far said BV Srinivas. National President of Indian Youth Congress Srinivas BV further said that when the BJP was in opposition, on the increase of ₹ 5 in fuel prices all BJP leaders were seen on streets, but today when all-round inflation is hit, all are silent. He catagorically said that today, the Youth Congress has tried to awaken them from sleep as petrol has crossed ₹ 100, diesel has crossed ₹ 90 in many parts of the country, and the prices of gas cylinders are increasing day by day, the shameful thing is that despite this kind of open loot, the BJP government also wants to get rid of its chase by overcoming its blame on the Congress. Criticising the present government at the centre he said that the Modi government has made such a dent in the budget of the housewife and the common man, that they are unable to cope with, the skyrocketing price of gas cylinders which has increased up to ₹ 225 in the last days, it is the mercy of the Modi government that a new record is being set in the prices of petrol, diesel, gas cylinders he added.
National President of Youth Congress Srinivas BV said that farmers, youth, labourers, businessmen, women are badly hit by inflation but the RSS and BJP are not at all concerned by this hike. He said that the anti-people and anti-national face of the country RSS and BJP has come out openly adding that the people of the country had chosen PM Modi and his ministers on the promise of a good day, now the trust of people has been broken upside down. Srinivas BV , on the recent statement of the Petroleum Minister in which he attributed the winter season to the prices of petrol and diesel, he termed it as a stupid statement, further accusing the government for being neither ashamed nor considerate. The Youth Congress demanded that excise duty on petrol diesel should be reduced and the price of LPG cylinders should also be withdrawn with immediate effect, and if the Petroleum Minister cannot do this then he should resign from his post immediately.
National In-charge of Youth Congress and AICC Jt-secretary Shri Krishna Allavaru said that this government and its ministers have no understanding of the economy. Inflation is already increasing continuously. The fire caused by the price of gas cylinders and petrol diesel will increase inflation further adding that the Modi government has become expensive on the country. The YC demanded that the increased prices be withdrawn with immediate effect and the increase in excise duty brought back for the relief of the people suffering from inflation and recession. The Youth Congress protestors said that this robbery of the BJP led NDA government has set the kitchen of the women of the country on fire, ruined the budget of their house, and the women minister of the Modi government, who when in the opposition, used to demonstrate on the road with a gas cylinder on a small increase is today maintaining pin drop silence them for which the people of the country will never forgive them their anti people behaviour.
