Varanasi Sankat Mochan Mandir bomb blast terrorist Wahiullah given death sentence by Ghaziabad sessions court.
After the protracted legal trials of sixteen years the Ghaziabad court has finally brought the obnoxious culprit to justice by awarding him capital punishment for the harshest crime of brutally killing twenty innocent persons and grievously injuring over hundred pilgrims at the Sankat Mochan temple n its vicinity and Cantonment Railway station in Varanasi as well.
The tragedy had occured by a bomb blast, planted by accused Wahiullah on 7 th March 2006 sending shock waves across the country.
The judgement to hang the dreaded terrorist till death was passed by District Sessions Judge Jitendra Kumar Sinha of Ghaziabad on Monday convicting Wahiullah in two cases of murder, attempt to murder and mutilation and under the explosives act.
This was revealed by the district government counsel Rajesh Sharma.
The case took sixteen long years to bring the culprit to justice.
It was in the evening of 7 th March that a first powerful bomb exploded at Sankat Mochan Temple Varanasi followed by another heavy explosion in the Cantonment Railway station dastardly killing twenty people and injuring over 100, several of them grievously, near it’s retiring room.
The area was under the jurisdiction of Lanka police station.
While this tragedy had occured , on the same day a cooker bomb also exploded on the railway tracks of Dharam Ved railway station.
The case that rocked the nation, was handed over to the special task force which after long and indepth investigations arrived at the conclusion that a terrorist organisation of Bangladesh was involved in these series of blasts that claimed about twenty innocent lives injuring more than hundred innocents.
The case was transferred to Ghaziabad court from Allahabad High court after 121 witnesses were thoroughly heard and necessary fool proof evidence collected. The prime accussed terrorist Wahiullah will be hanged till death, finally.
