Women n men protestors brutally lathicharged at Gairsain Assembly

On the first day of the Uttarakhand government’s budget session commenced with the speech of governor BABY Rani Maurya and subsequent voceferous lawmakers of opposition Congress boycotting it on the pivotal issue of unemployment, hundreds of protestors comprising of women, senior citizens and youths of Nandprayag protesting outside the assembly were brutally lathicharged, teargassed and water sprinkled on them injuring several protestors with Congress party expressing it serious concern and condemnation assurung to raise the issue in the Gairsain Assembly at Bhararisain which will function till 4 th February.

The Congress party has announced that it will not let the BJP government function in the house till the erring officers, responsible for mercilessly thrashing the women n youths with lathies are not penalised who were protesting for their just demands.

Hundreds of protestors including large number of village women and senior citizens were protesting outside the Gairsain Assembly house demanding construction and widening of roads in Nandprayag Ghat area ( block) which is their long pending demand said tge protestors. On the on hand the government is spending over twelve thousand crores on all weather roads but the villagers of Uttarakhand interiors and Nandprayag ghat have been deliberately left out despite their repeated peaceful protests and long time sit ins n protest demonstrations demanding construction, ( metallizing ) and widening of link roads of Nandprayag Ghat they added.

he heavy n brutal lathicharge on the peaceful women, youth and senior citizens including sprinkling of water cannons have exposed the true anti people face of Uttarakhand’s BJP government said the angered and anguished protestors at Gairsain. The Congress leader of the opposition Indira Hridayesh has taken an extremely serious view of the protestors being heavily and cruely lathicharged and assured of raising the issue in the house on Tuesday.
