Congress stages a massive protest in Dehradun over FIR against Rahul Gandhi,Workers and leaders clash with police

The protest was led by State President Ganesh Godiyal. Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Yashpal Arya, former State President Pritam Singh, along with several other prominent leaders and more than a dozen MLAs were present in the demonstration.

A day after a lacklustre show, the Congress made a strong comeback in Dehradun today with a massive demonstration against the FIR lodged against Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi.
A large number of Congress workers created a ruckus near the Secretariat, shouting slogans against the Central government and the BJP. The situation turned tense when the workers tried to march towards the Secretariat, forcing the police to struggle hard to stop them and put up barricades.
The protest was led by State President Ganesh Godiyal. Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Yashpal Arya, former State President Pritam Singh, along with several other prominent leaders and more than a dozen MLAs were present in the demonstration.
Congress leaders alleged that the FIR against Rahul Gandhi is a political vendetta and an attempt to suppress the voice of the opposition. They said the Congress will not be intimidated by such actions and will continue to fight for the people on the streets.
Heavy police force was deployed to maintain law and order and to prevent the workers from entering the Secretariat premises.
The vociferous Congress leader Dr. Harak Singh Rawat had to be admitted in the hospital trasported in a police officers vehicle as his health cu dition deteriorated.
