Yamuna receiving high levels of pollution with ammonia more than 2.3 ppm

The Yamuna river is in bad shape and is badly polluted due to high level of pollutants received by it. This revelation has been made by none other but the Delhi Jal Board which seems to be worried obviously. According to a message on social media, platform Delhi Jal Board has said that since the Yamuna River is badly polluted receiving high level of pollutants the water production has been curtailed 25% to 30% from Water Treatment Plants of Wazirabad and Chandrwal resulting in low water supply pressure from the evening of 25 th December toll the situation rectifies. The press release if the Delhi Jal Board unambiguously states that in the polluted Yamuna river the ammonia quantum is more than 2.3 ppm adding that the areas, that would be affected by the low water supply are : Kamla, Nagar, Shakti Nagar and adjoining areas, Karol Bagh, Pahadganj, NDMC areas, Old and, New Rajinder Nagar, Patel Nagar, ( East and West) , Baljit Nagar, Prem Nagar, Inderpuri and adjoining areas, Kalkaji, Govindpuri, Tuglakabad, Sangam Vihar, ambedkar Nagar, Prahaladpur, and, adjoining areas, Ramleela Ground, Delhi Gate, Subhash Park, Model Town, Gulabi Bagh, Punjabi Bagh, Jahangirpuri, Mool Chand, South Extension, Greater Kailas, Burari and adjoining areas, Parts of Cantonment areas, South Delhi n other areas. The population of the affected areas, are advised to use the water judiciously in view of the low, water supply due to the ammonia level in Yamuna going high making it badly polluted.
