While Congress declared Manoj Rawat, BJP fields Asha Nautiyal, both Ex MLAs and UKD a new comer Bhandari

While the Congress party has declared its candidate fielding the former lawmaker from Kedarnath Manoj Rawat the BJP too has accorded ticket to the former MLA Asha Rani Nautiyal making the contest quite interesting. The Uttarakhand Kranti Dal has also given ticket to Dr. Ashutosh Bhandari to give the contest the three cornered look. The sitting MLA from Kedarnath constituency Shaila Rani Rawat had died due to spinal injury complications of serious nature at the age of 68 leaving the seat vacant. However, both the Congress and the BJP in the state had developed ruffled feathers on the selection of candidates within their parties finally deciding the former lawmakers as their respective candidates.

It may be recalled that Asha Rani Nautiyal is a well-known Indian politician who served as a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from the Kedarnath constituency in Uttarakhand, representing the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Born on June 25, 1969, she held the position of MLA from 2002 to 2012, winning consecutive elections in 2002 and 2007.

During her tenure, she also served as parliamentary secretary from 2009 to 2012.

Prior to entering politics, Asha Nautiyal was involved with the BJP, serving as vice-president of Rudraprayag district in 1997-1998 and president of the BJP Mahila Morcha in Rudraprayag district in 1999.

Recently, Asha Nautiyal was considered as a potential candidate for the Kedarnath bypoll by the BJP after lot of hiccups.

Meanwhile, the chief minister of Uttarakhand Pushkar Singh Dhami has congratulated Asha Rani Nautiyal on her being selected as the party candidate appealing the electorates of Kedarnath to vote for her. Posting her picture on his social media handle X Pushkar Singh Dhami wrote in Hindi : Hearty congratulations and best wishes to Mrs. @AshaNautiyalBJP ji on being made the candidate on behalf of Bharatiya Janata Party in the Kedarnath Assembly by-election. In the last 10 years, the people of Kedarnath have experienced unprecedented development under the able leadership of the Honorable Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji. The regional people are looking forward to taking this development journey forward with the double engine government. The God-like people of Kedarnath are requested to ensure the all-round and comprehensive development of the area by giving their valuable support to the BJP in the by-election.
