Uttarakhand is privileged to host the National Games next year. The Indian Olympics Association has issued a letter in this regard. This would be the first prestigious opportunity for Uttarakhand and its government to host the National Games next year. At present, Goa is hosting the 37 th National Games considered to be a grand occasion. In a letter send to the government of Uttarakhand it has been clearly mentioned that Uttarakhand will host the 38 th National Games next year and after the Goa National Games’ completion, the flag will be formally handed over to Uttarakhand. 9th November is the last day of National Games in Goa after which the entire responsibility of 38 th National Games will be of Uttarakhand government. According to the letter of Indian Olympics Association written to the Uttarakhand chief secretary the IOA has allotted the 38 th National Games to the State of Uttarakhand, so being the next host of the national games Uttarakhand will have to receive the IOA flag at the closing ceremony of the 37 th National Games. It directed the Uttarakhand administration to send their representative to receive the flag at the closing ceremony on 9 th November, 2023. The letter regarding this information was addressed to the chief secretary, Uttarakhand by Joint Secretary and acting CEO, IOA Kalyan Choubey directing Uttarakhand government to take over the charge for the next year’s necessary arrangements to host the 38 th National Games in Uttarakhand.
