Uttarakhand film producers will have to concentrate on post production publicity to enthuse audience to through to theatres

COMING SOON

Yesterday there were hardly fifteen audience on Monday at Vegas mall PVK and on Sunday about ninety.

One of the audience was Lt General G.S  Rawat who always comes forward to promote the Uttarakhandi culture, heritage and traditions.

Though the Garhwali movie Teri Maya directed by Sanjay Negi  is a fabulous movie despite few drawbacks but the audience of Dwarka were missing altogether which was really worrisome.

In Uttarakhand there is no dearth of Uttarakhand movies especially the Garhwali dialect movies.

During the last five years, we’ve seen good numbers of Garhwali movies being produced especially after the Uttarakhand government announced its subsidy policy to encourage the local fimmakers and also to ensure that our hotels, homestays  and restaurants are encouraged and economy strengthened.

But despite all this, the main lack is from the side of the producers who spent a good amount on the movies’ production the majoroty of the investment though comes back from the government but they hardly spend money on publicity and dissemination of information about the Uttarakhandi movies in print and electronics media including on publicity through posters. For them the media seems to be of little or no relevance, it seems.

If the publicity lacks then audience are not enthused to throng to theatres.

There have been instances when the producers sponser shows in order to gather crowd and boast about their movies going house full.

This shouldn’t be the practice.

Such attitude actually gives rise to substandard quality of movies’ production as merely earning through government subsidy by hook and by crook fulfilling certain promises / requirements,  compromises the quality of script, films, and performance of the actors including the performance of the technical crew.

Uttarakhand has and  been producing good quality films investing good amount and the government of Uttarakhand too cooperating fully to help the producers through subsidy but more needs to be done and quality films’ production  is the need of the hour.

The producers and their management of films should concentrate on publicity medum as well to enthuse the audience to inculcate in them the taste for Uttarakhand movies.

Till the Uttarakhand’s audience will not come to theatres buying the tickets tastfully and enthusiastically, it will be construed that Uttarakhand film industry is still lagging behind in the race of regional cinema in the country.

The author though  congratulate the director of Teri Maya , Garhwali movie Sanjay Negi for good direction and bringing out an excellent family oriented film.

Lt general Rawat lauded the movie to the core and said that every actor were accorded full time. He was especially appreciative of the child artist for his outstanding performance. Sunil Negi , President Uttarakhand Journalists Forum lauded the movie but expressed his disenchantment over the poor audience response fixing  the responsibilty of publicity lack on the producers of the Garhwali movies.

“KANDALI ” THAT WILL TOUCH EVERY HEART
