Uttarakhand CM leaves for London to generate funds for Global Investors Summit . Acknowledged rousing welcome at Heathrow Airport.
The Uttarakhand chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has flown to United Kingdom where he was given a tumultuous reception by the Uttarakhandies living there at Heathrow airport. The women were in traditional attire wearing traditional jewels too welcoming Dhami at the Airport with the traditional musical instruments like Dhol Damao etc at play. During his stay in Britain the Uttarakhand chief minister will meet the Uttarakhandies living in Birmingham and London and also meet several industrialists of Indian origin living there as well as foreign investors inviting them to Uttarakhand to set up their businesses and industries. His basic purpose of visit is to invite as much as foreign investors in Uttarakhand to enhance foreign investment.
There are also reports of Uttarakhand chief minister participating in road shows in various states of Britain to enthuse foreign investors invest in Uttarakhand in order to make the global summit successful. According to news reports the chief minister is desirous of mobilising 2.5 lakh crores worth of investment in his state via the global investor summit being organised in the Himalayan State. The Uttarakhandi NRIs living in London, Heathrow, Birmingham and other townships were extremely enthusiastic to receive Pushkar Singh Dhami.
Before leaving for Britain the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami tweeted in Hindi on X : Going to Birmingham and London with the blessings of our Gods and deities to meet , interact with the Overseas Indians and international industrialists with the aim to generate maximum funds and fulfil the optimism and hopes of the citizens of the state for making Uttarakhand cohesive and powerful and to invite them to Global Investors Summit in Uttarakhand in the month of December. Uttarakhand is an expeditiously developing state in terms of investment, therefore I am fully hopeful and confident that lot of people from abroad would come here for investment leading to more opportunities for employment generation as well as Uttarakhand touching new heights of developments. Jai Hind, Jai Uttarakhand tweeted chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami.
It may be recalled that during the BJP tenure when Trivendra Singh Rawat was the chief minister the same environment of foreign investors summit was created and industrialists from different states and abroad including Gautam Adani had visited Dehradun showing tremendous interest towards investment for setting up industries etc. The chief minister Rawat had then announced very enthusiastically that he has mobilised funds worth Rs. 80000 crores for setting up industries in Uttarakhand amounting to generation of jobs to local youths, but after Rawat was shunted out every thing evaporated and nothing had moved forward since then and now this new exercise of “global investors summit” that’s expected to mobilise investments worth Rs. 2.5 lakh crores to be held in Uttarakhand in the month of December. Let’s hope this summit fructifies, not going the way the previous effort had fizzled out.
