Twenty year girl of Nainital district pushed into prostitution by two women taking advantage of her poverty

The incidents of crimes in Uttarakhand are on the increase and prostitution is one of them.

Even in the state capital Dehradun and Nainital, the best tourist destination, criminals involved in human and child trafficking including clandestinely manipulating women into prostitution are on the increase.

Several sex rackets and gangs are involved in Dehradun , Mussoorie and other tourist destinations clandestinely operating and reports of some of them appear in newspapers after being caught by vigilant police teams. In many such illegal operations the collaboration of corrupt policemen can’t be ruled out.

Despite all these shameful and worrisome incidents taking place the Women Commission of Uttarakhand seems to be too careless to intervene. The Uttarakhand Commission of Women should take suo motto of such tragic cases of women and in order to provide relief to the rape survivors hold meeting with top police brass to punish the guilty stringently and decrease such cases of the distressed women in the state considered as abode of Gods. This is really worrisome and needs immediate attention.

A recent, one such incident is enough to substantiate this fact.

According to a later news coming in from Nainital district of Uttarakhand two women involved in such illegal acts have pushed an unemployed orphaned young girl by manipulating her to get employment taking advantage of her desperate need for a job.

The police have registered a case of pushing a woman into prostitution / Sex racket by taking advantage of her need for a job under immoral traffic act and other necessary sections of the Nyay Sanhinta, the newly introduced law.

The twenty years old victim girl told the police that she had lost her parents when she was a child. She was living with her relatives who brought her up. Two years before she left the house of her relatives in search of a job to Kichcha, Nainital district.

Here she can into contact with two women namely Chaya of Sanik Colu and another woman of Bandiya locality.

Chaya manipulated the woman under the guise of getting job for her and gave shelter in her house.

The hapless girl believed in her as she needed the job desperately for survival not knowing that she actually fell in an immoral act trap.

When the girl was pushed into prostitution her health deteriorated badly. One day she came into contact of one Sejal Gupta at the house of Chaya where the victim was living. Sejal Gupta took her into confidence and ask her to come to her house in Rudrapur.

She complained that even Sejal Gupta further pushed her into prostitution. Finally the police comes into picture and sends the girl to social home registering case against Sejal Gupta as well under immoral traffic act and other sections for pushing the victim into prostitution taking advantage of her poverty etc.
