There are reports that in Narendra Nagar , Tehri Garhwal the home constituency of the Uttarakhand’s Forest minister , massive numbers of Pine trees are being cut since the last more than a year in various locations particularly at Gaja and no notice of these arbitrary cuttings taken note of by the Forest Department officers despite the news appearing in several channels and social media platforms.
These pine trees in good numbers providing pleasent environment have been nursed and nurtured by the previous generations since the British era and the massive cutting for commercial use with no official reason assigned in Narendra Nagar area has annoyed the local population with reports appearing in media channels and questions being asked as to who is behind this job and what is the concerned minister of forest and the forest department officials doing ? Why are everyone in the forest department mum is the question being asked these days? The people ask if the jungles will be cut so massively then who is to be blamed finally ? There are reports that a jungle and wood mafia seems to be at work behind these massive cutting of fully grown up pine trees thus openly violating the Forest Act and the laws of the land.
