On the very first day, just after the emergence of New Year 2023 earthquake tremors welcomed residents of national capital Territory of Delhi and Haryana while majority of the people exchanging new year good wishes while others sleeping. When the entire country is celebrating the New Year Eve, tremors were felt in Delhi at 1.19 AM. According to the immediate data the earthquake was of low intensity with the measurement of 3.8 on the Richter scale. As per the Centre of Seismology the the earthquake was recorded at Jhajjar in Haryana impacting the national capital and the surrounding areas with tremors, though not so powerful. The author could feel them while sleeping and thereafter – after confirmation filed the news immediately. However, there wasn’t any report of any untoward incidents or injuries due to these tremors.
