The Nagarasu Gurdwara dispute ended after three days, with all Nihangs peacefully descending

Rudraprayag. The three-day tension and standoff at the Damdama Sahib Gurdwara in Nagarasu ended peacefully on Tuesday. The seven Nihangs, who had been stationed on the third and fourth floors of the Gurdwara, came down following talks between the administration and the Nihang group from Punjab.
The administration continued to make efforts to control the situation.
According to eyewitnesses, some Nihangs threw stones to distract the police, while one Nihang advanced brandishing a sword. However, the police handled the situation with restraint and vigilance.
Gurdwara manager Baba Beant Singh alleged that Nihangs on the upper floors vandalized the third and fourth floors of the building and used the damaged material as defensive tools.
On the spot, District Magistrate Vishal Mishra, Superintendent of Police Niharika Tomar, along with administrative and police officials, took stock of the situation and attempted to find a solution through dialogue.
According to information, the dispute began with disagreements between the Gurudwara Management Committee and the Nihangs. The Nihangs stated that their protest was linked to the Karnaprayag incident and the demand for the release of their comrades, while the police administration clarified that the Nagarasu dispute had no connection to the Karnaprayag incident.
After several rounds of talks and mediation by a Nihang group from Punjab, all the Nihangs came down peacefully, ending the three-day-long dispute and giving the administration a sigh of relief.
