Tension after the alleged murder of Manoj resident of Chamoli. Body found hanging with the tree , mysteriously

There is immense tension in Chamoli after the mysterious murder of the resident of Basnjabgarh village in Nandanagar development block and the police is trying to cope up with the tensed situation trying their best to find the culprits.

Today with regard to the case of the mysterious death of Manoj Singh Bisht, a resident of Banjbaghad village of Nandanagar development block, the people of Nandanagar area staged a protest in front of the mortuary of District Hospital Gopeshwar on Monday.

The protesters are adamant on calling the DM and SP to the spot demanding a high-level investigation into Manoj’s murder and immediate arrest of the murderers and hanging them.

According to the information, Manoj Singh Bisht, son of Ganga Singh of Banjbagad, used to operate horses on the Hemkund Sahib Yatra route. He used to operate the horses of Devendra Singh Chauhan, resident of Pulna, at Ghangaria, a major stop on the Yatra route.

He used to take devotees from Ghangaria to Hemkund Sahib and bring them back.

Police said Manoj slept with his fellow horse rider Prakash Singh Rawat on the night of June 29. The next morning at around 3:30 am, horse owner Devendra Chauhan came to feed the horse but Manoj was not found on the bed.

His mobile was on till July 5 and then switched off. The family filed a missing person report at Govindghat police station on July 7. On July 13, Manoj’s body was found hanging from a tree with the help of a rope in the forests of Ghangharia.

The police and SDRF team were continuously searching for him in the forest and along the river streams. Manoj’s body was found hanging from a tree in the forest of Ghangaria around 4 pm on Sunday evening. The body has been sent for post-mortem. Further action will be taken after the post-mortem report.
