Thursday, April 3, 2025: Champawat, Uttarakhand – A special workshop was organized at Government Secondary School Phugar, Champawat, where renowned author-journalist Prof. S.S. Dogra guided students on the topic “How to Improve Student Life.” A total of 81 students from grades 6 to 10 enthusiastically participated in the session.
During the workshop, Prof. Dogra encouraged students to adopt a disciplined routine, respect their parents and teachers, follow their advice, take an interest in sports, and contribute to daily household tasks. He recited his self-composed motivational poem “Sapno Ki Udaan” (The Flight of Dreams) and emphasized the importance of utilizing time and energy effectively to achieve one’s goals. Many students also impressed the audience with their creative expressions. At the end of the workshop, Prof. Dogra led the students in an inspiring pledge. Apart from his active journalism career, he has also authored six books.
“I will do my best, I will be responsible for myself, my family, my parents, my teachers, my society, and my country.”
The aim of this pledge was to inspire students to contribute not only to their personal development but also to the progress of society, the state, and the nation.
Following this motivational session, Prof. Dogra, who had specially traveled from Delhi, presented his fourth book, “WOW,” to school teacher Babita Singh as a token of appreciation. The event was also graced by faculty members Nirmal Pandey, Hem Pandey, and Leela Bisht, along with regional social activist and founder of Kanda Village Valley, Madan Singh. They extended their best wishes to the students for the new academic session and wished them a bright future.
According to sources, the school was originally established in 1927, but in the current session, it has now received official recognition for classes up to Grade 12, ensuring that local village children will no longer have to struggle to find higher education opportunities far from home.
