Sr Cong leader Anand Sharma who’d met BJP chief Nadda strongly shrugs off rumours about his joining BJP
The recent meeting of the former union minister and senior Congress leader, one the the G-23 dissenter with BJP national chief has raised several speculations about him joining BJP, especially after his Rajya Sabha ticket was not finalised this time. Kindly recall that Anand Sharma had been the Rajya, Sabha MP for four terms earlier. He had also met the BJP national chief after his ticket was cut by Congress, raising controversies about his joining the saffron party. He is also considered to be a leader if G 23 group of Congress. He is reportedly said to be annoyed with Congress leadership for not considering his name for Rajya Sabha after his previous term expired in April. However, the senior Congress leader has catagorically said that if I have to meet the BJP chief, I have every right to meet him. For me he is not just a BJP president but we have been Alma mater and come from the same state. There should not be any political significance attached to it said Sharma while speaking to ANI. He even went to the extent of asking did I have to seek permission from anyone to meet him? I belong to INC and can meet anyone. Being ideologically of different thoughts doesn’t mean that there is personal division between us. He added that we don’t make ideological opponents our social enemy said Sharma while responding to media’s erratic questions. It may be recalled that the significant Congress heavy weight n leader of G-23 group of Congress had already given adieu to Congress and several leaders including Madhav Rao Scindia, Captain Amrinder Singh, Sunil Jakhar, Jiten Prasaad, RPN Singh etc had joined BJP in the past. Moreover, the meeting of Anand Sharma, senior Congress leader a strong opponent of BJP had never met any BJP leader earlier except this time after being kept out of Rajya Sabha this time. So speculations about his joining BJP may arise obviously say political analysts? Meanwhile Anand Sharma today condoled the sad demise of the former Japan PM Shinzo Abe through a tweet writing : Deeply saddened and grieved to learn about the passing away of former Japanese prime minister Shinzo Abe. He was a great friend of India and have many find memories of interactions with him. Japan has lost an able and wise leader. My deepest condolences tweeted Anand Sharma.
