Sonia is our guiding light says new president. Shashi Tharoor reassures of his fullest support to Kharge !
The UN diplomat turned politician, former union minister and three times MP from Trivendrum, Kerala the only close rival of Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge who had shown quite a large heart and decency in congratulating the latter while he won as Congress chief, today as well, the media savvy politician Tharoor met Sonia Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge at party headquarter 24 Akbar Road and got a picture clicked while in AICC office and posted it on Twitter in jolly mood tweeting : Gathered for a brief chat after @kharge ji sat in his new office for a symbolic moment. Pledged him my full support and cooperation in taking @incIndia forward.
The Congress party too posted the picture in its twitter handle tweeting : Hail Democracy. ( LOKTANTRA ZINDABAD meaning that after the elections are over both the contestents are sitting together and sharing their views with their leader Sonia Gandhi and with each other as well. This is how democracy plays a vital role in Congress party whereas in other political parties, especially ruling BJP no party president got elected rather were imposed from the top.
The new Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge is indebted and highly obliged to both Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi. He tweeted for Sonia Gandhi terming her as his guiding light : Soniaji has been our guiding light. She anchored the Congress party through difficult times, through highs and lows, personifying the values of courage, sacrifice, grace and respect. We shall always remain our source of strength as the party gears up for the future challenges tweeted Kharge.
For Rahul Gandhi though posting his picture, not mentioning about him he tweeted : It is a great honour and privilege to be elected as Congress president. I pledge to work harder than ever, listen to the voice of every kaaryakarta and build leadership at all levels of the party. Together, overcome and win this battle to save india’s democracy and Constitution tweeted Kharge.
After Kharge officially taking over as Congress chief while the 75 years Sonia Gandhi running not quite a good health is relieved of huge responsibilty though would be holding the remote in her hands very much, the Gandhi family has been exonerated of the charge of promoting family dynastic rule in government n party.
It’s in a way huge rebuff to BJP who till yesterday been accusing Congrese of promoting family rule n party president thinking that finally the family person will be named as party chief. But adamant Rahul not bowing down to accept party president responsibility finally made Mallikarjun Kharge the Congress chief, a slap on the face his detractors, G-23 leaders and the saffron party.
