Sonia Gandhi urges party MPs, office bearers and workers to work hard and unitedly to accompany good results in assembly elections in 4 states
The former Congress chief and former chairman of UPA Advisory Council Sonia Gandhi has come down heavily of the BJP led NDA government saying it is claiming that all is well in Jammu and Kashmir but the fact remains that there have been eleven terrorist attacks during the last eleven months in which the casualties of security forces was numerous.
Criticizing the BJP government for making no provision for the youths and farmers in the Budget giving them literally, no relief, whatsoever, Sonia Gandhi said that in view of the incoming assembly elections despite our position being better we should not be over confident but become more confident, cohesive and united to work hard bringing better results.
Sonia Gandhi was addressing the Congress parliamentary party meeting in view of the fast approaching assembly elections in four states viz. Haryana, Bihar, Jharkhand and Maharashtra.
During the Lok Sabha elections, the Congress has exhibited very encouraging results in Haryana and Maharashtra.
In Jharkhand and Bihar also, the Congress party ( I.N.D.I.A.) has exhibited better performance bringing encouraging results.
In view of the past encouraging performance the moral of Congress and I.N.D.I.A is extremely high looking confident of bringing favourable results.
Sonia Gandhi while addressing the Congress parliamentary party meeting said that since the elections are to be held in four states in the coming months we need to keep the momentum intact.
We shouldn’t be either a rebel not over confident said Mrs Gandhi.
Though the environment is in our favour but we still need to work with more confidence and dedication unitedly said the Congress leader.
Sonia Gandhi said that she is extremely confident – the way in national elections we have made the difference by winning, in these four states also we can change the tide of India politics in our favour changing the political scenario dramatically.
A resolution was also passed on Wayanad tragedy with a voice vote expressing deepest condolences for the deceased.
She passionately said that her heart goes with the anguished and traumatised bereaved families of Wayanad, expressing her deepest condolences praying to Almighty to render peace to the departed souls in this ecological catastrophe.
She said our political partners are rendering every possible help to the victimised families. There has been tragedies in other parts of the country as well for which we express our deepest condolences said Sonia Gandhi.
She said : People have also died in railway accidents due to bad management. We express our deepest condolences said Sonia Gandhi while addressing the Congress Parliamentary Party meeting.
On budget Sonia Gandhi while giving her reaction said that the youths and farmers have been sidelined in the budget and in the context of several important sectors the allocation has been negligible resulting in injustice with them.
She said that millions of families have been destroyed due to massive unemployment and inflation in the country with prime minister and finance minister misguiding the countrymen resulting in immense apathy among the people.
On the Kashmir situation and increasing attacks of Pakistan sponsored terrorists in the strife torn J & K, Sonia Gandhi took the government to task saying that they talk that everything is going well in the state but forget that there had been eleven deadly attacks during the last eleven months in J& K with about fifty bravehearts of security forces martyred.
On Manipur situation too Sonia Gandhi came down heavily on the ruling party saying that in strife torn Manipur too the situation are not under control and prime minister though travelling on foreign tours have no time to visit Manipur.
She also took the government to task on the census issue saying that the government is not at all serious on this issue which is lying pending since 2022.
This has resulted in opposition parties and the nation not knowing as to how many people come under backwards, OBC and SC, ST categories.
In view of the delay in this census process about 12 crores people of these lowest echelons of the society have been deprived of the Prime minister Welfare food grain scheme.
She said that we had thought that the BJP must have learnt lessons from the poor outcome in the recently held elections at the centre but it is still proactive in dividing the society through unfair means said Sonia Gandhi in her address to Congress parliamentary party meeting.
Sonia Gandhi urged the party MPs to be vigilant, attend parliament regularly and take take the committee assignments seriously.
