Shivpuri outpost in-charge SI Vinod Sharma dies in road accident after the Scorpio plunged into Ganga
The accident occurred while returning from night duty. It is suspected that the vehicle lost control and fell into the river due to drowsiness.

Sub-Inspector Vinod Kumar Sharma, in-charge of the Shivpuri outpost, died in a tragic road accident on the Rishikesh-Badrinath Highway. The accident occurred while he was returning to the Shivpuri outpost from Muni Ki Reti police station after completing his night duty. His Scorpio vehicle went out of control and fell into a deep ravine and into the Ganges River.
According to police information, Vinod Sharma was the sole occupant of the Scorpio (UK07-1007). Preliminary investigations suggest that the accident was caused by a driver falling asleep while driving. Upon receiving information about the accident, police, the SDRF, and disaster relief teams immediately arrived at the scene. Rescue teams retrieved the body from the river using a raft and transported it to the road.
Vinod Kumar Sharma was originally a resident of the Ranipokhari area.
He was currently posted as the in-charge of the Shivpuri outpost under the Muni Ki Reti police station area. He was well-known within the police department for his dedication, unassuming nature, and soft-spoken personality. He had previously served as in-charge of the Dhalwala and Kailash Gate outposts. Prior to his police service, he had also served in the army.
The news of his sudden demise sent shockwaves through the police department and the Ranipokhari area.
Locals and colleagues described him as a dedicated, friendly, and kind-hearted officer. His other brother is also reportedly employed in the police department.
