Several shops and Dhabas demolished at Kedarnath and debris scattered all around
As happened in Badrinath last year when the shops of Pujaries were demolished creating a panicky situation , the same trend is being repeated at Kedarnath Shrine precincts where lots of shops, Dhabas etc have been raised to ground and massive quantum of Malba ( debris etc) spread / scattered around. The shopkeepers and Dhabas owners are in panicky situation and so are the people living there. According to Atul Sati of Joshimath who has posted some pictures and videos received by him exhibiting the demolished shops and their Malba scattered all around , the situation reminds us of the damage done to several shops in Badrinath Dham vicinity in the name of its beautification etc. in a post on social media handle Atul Sati has written in Hindi : These photos n video has come from Kedarnath … When people in connection with the Yatra preparations reached at Kedarnath Shrine precincts there were panicked to see the picture of demolished shops with massive debris scattered all around. Last time the same scenes were witnessed at Badrinath Shrine. According to the people witness to these demolished shops the muck after demolishing their shops have been spread all this very in the Kedarnath precincts. The picture are self explanatory.
According to journalist Ajit Singh Rathi these pathetic pictures have come from Kedarnath. I don’t know whether this action of the administration is right or wrong? But when only 15 days are left for the start of Char Dham Yatra, was this the right time to launch such a big drive? The entire Kedarnath is dug up, an accident can happen to the devotees!! The road in front of Kedarnath Baba’s temple has also been dug up. The question is that if it was necessary then why was the work not started at such a time that it would have been completed by now? If this is the situation till the start of the Yatra, what message will the pilgrims coming from all over the country take back with them? In protest against this campaign, the priests today announced a protest on the very first day of the Yatra.
