Member of the Delhi legislative assembly since 2015 from Rohini Vijendra Gupta is the new Speaker of Delhi Assembly of National Capital territory of Delhi after his name was proposed in the first assembly session since the BJP formed its government. However, the sux time MLA from Karawal Nagar and Mustafabad, 67 years old Mohan Singh Bisht, the senior most leader in Delhi BJP has been appointed as deputy speaker. Sounds irrational. After the name of Virendra Gupta being proposed by the Delhi CM Rekha Gupta , the CM with the leader of the opposition Atishi and Vijendra Gupta approached the Pro term speaker and thereafter all of them asked Gupta to accept and sit of the Speakers chair.
Vijendra Gupta then officially became the Speaker of the Delhi assembly.
Meanwhile, the leader of opposition in Delhi assembly enjoying the status of a cabinet minister Atishi Marlena accused the present BJP government for being anti Dalit and anti Sikh writing on X : BJP has deep hatred for Dalits and Sikhs. The national convenor of AAP and former Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejrival too criticized the BJP government for being anti Dalit and anti Sikh enclosing the tweet of Atishi with the picture as above . He wrote on X : The new BJP government of Delhi removed Baba Saheb’s photo and put up the photo of Prime Minister Modi. This is not right. This has hurt millions of followers of Baba Saheb. Speaking to mediamen Atishi said that when we met the new Delhi chief minister I said that they have not fulfilled their pre poll promise of giving Rs.2500 to every women of Delhi but they haven’t mentioned about it in their first cabinet meeting. I urge the chief minister that now she should implement this pre poll promise on 8 th March, The International Women’s Day. We are waiting curiously that on 8 th March, IWD this first installment of Rs.2500 will go into the account of Delhi women said former Delhi chief minister Atishi.
Today all the lawmakers of Delhi took the oath in the assembly accorded by the proterm speaker Arvind Singh Lovely.
The chief minister Rekha Gupta, LOP Atishi Marlena and all the MLAs of BJP, AAP took the oath and the house was adjourned briefly.
The Rajya Sabha MP of Aam Admi Party Sanjay Singh said the outgoing government of AAP had left the govt. after giving a 2.5 times more budget and in the last ten years the budget of Delhi was increased from 32 thousand crores to 77 thousand crores said Sanjay Singh.
