Protesting wrestlers at Jantar Mantar Vinesh Phogat, Sakshi Malik and Bajrang Punia etc with 9 buses full of Mahila supporters arrested while new parliament building was being inaugurated !

While prime minister Narendra Modi was busy inaugurating the new triangular magnificent building of new Parliament adjacent to the 96 years old circular Parliament built by the British while ruling India, the protesting wrestlers for the last more than a month at Jantar Mantar were being allegedly thrashed and arrested.

In view of the entire parliament and adjoining precincts being heavily guarded by police bandobast keeping in view the the security angle for VVIPs and VIPs like prime minister, speaker and union council of ministers, MPs n foreign dignitaries etc, the Jantar Mantar also witnessed the presence of heavy police arrangement with hundreds of paramilitary and Delhi Police personnel fully equipped officially with lathies, guns n pistols.

Every way leading to New Delhi had been barricaded and restricted for vehicles till afternoon as a precaution.

On Delhi borders too special police bandobast ensured that till three PM no vehicle will be allowed to enter New Delhi reveals the latest news. Prohibitory orders under 144 has been imposed there. Same was the case at Jantar Mantar which had almost become like a army cantonment where no one was allowed to enter or go outside.

The farmers unions had already given a call to 360 Khas Panchayats to throng at Jantar Mantar to express their solidarity to the ongoing wrestlers protest Dharna demanding stringent legal action against the WFI chairman and MP Brijbhushan Sharan Singh accusing him of sexual harrasment and assaults etc.

A call was given by the farmer leaders and protesting wrestlers to Women farmers n members of Khaap Panchayats to come in large numbers at Jantar Mantar on 28 th May Sunday and march to parliament house to present a memorandum to the PM.

Meanwhile, the protesting wrestlers having brought gold, silver and bronze medals for the country in Olympics and various international competitions have been arrested by Delhi Police at Jantar Mantar viz. Bajrang Punia, Sakshi Malik, Vinesh Phogat raising slogans demanding arrest of the WFI chairmen and MP Brijbhushan Sharan Singh. They wanted to go to parliament house venue to meet the prime minister to put their grievances forth. There were lot of scuffles and physical fight between the paramilitary personnel and the wrestlers etc.

About nine private buses hired by Delhi Police arrested protesting wrestlers, their supporters and Mahila Kisan Panchayat members holding play cards and flags raising anti establishment slogans demanding incarceration of WFI chairman forcibly pushing them into buses and detained at Mandir Marg police station.

In a tweet today while the arrests were going in at Jantar Mantar internationally popular wrestler Vinesh Phogat tweeted in Hindi : At Jantar Mantar – democracy is being openly murdered. On the one hand prime minister sir has inaugurated the new building if democracy, on the other hand our people are being incessantly arrested tweeted Vinesh Phogat. In another tweet Sakshi Malik wrote with a video showing the paramilitary police thrashing them : This is how our champions are being treated. The world is watching us! # WrestlersProtest# :

Meanwhile, former Congress president Rahul Gandhi who also boycotted the inauguration of new parliament tweeted back to back in Hindi twice : Parliament is the voice of the people. Prime minister is considering its inauguration as coronation. Annexing the picture of protesting women wrestlers being thrashed at Jantar Mantar Rahul in another tweet wrote : The Coronation has, been fulfilled – the proudly kind is killing the people’s voice on roads tweeted RG.
