Press Club of India to give Oxygen Concentrators to its members as a helping hand for 5, 6 days

The management committee of the newly elected team of Press Club of India has decided to help the PCI members and their families who are suffering from Covid 19 by lending them Oxygen Concentrators purely on returnable basis after use for 5 to 6 days.

According to the message circulated via email n social media to all the members of Press Club of India it said that as part of our efforts to extend a helping hand to PCI members in these times of Corona pandemic, the Club has been given a few limited number of Oxygen concentrators purely in returnable basis. We can offer these portable concentrators to our needy members and their immediate family members on loan to deal with emergency situation in their homes.

PCI member will need to give a copy of Doctor’s prescription and take full responsibility for the safety of concentrator while picking it up from the Club and later returning it. The PCI members have lauded the generosity n kind gesture of the new management led by its president Umakant Lakhera, senior journalist.

Normally, a concentrator can be used for 5 to 6 days depending upon medical advice. We would expect the member to return it within five to six days in safe and working
condition so that it can be rotated for use by other members said the PCI message.

It may be recalled that several PCI members and their families have been suffering from Covid 19 and this small gesture by the PCI management have been lauded by all. It may be recalled that the new president Umakant Lakhera n his entire panel including the management committee has won the PCI election with the treasurer n two management committee seats going to the rival Basak Ghosh panel which has given quite a fight to the victorious panel.
