Poster, songs and trailer of new Garhwali movie RAIBAAR released with fanfare in a glittering event in Garhwal Bhawan

The poster, trailer and songs of the Garhwali language new movie shot in the serene and beautiful locations of Garhwal, Uttarakhand “Raibaar” ( message) directed by a young but dextrous and experienced director Shishir Uniyal were launched in Garhwal Bhawan, New Delhi in the presence of the entire production team including its cast, producers and director.

The function commenced with the lightening if the lamp by Sushila Rawat, Khushal Singh Bisht, Rajendra Chouhan, Shishir UNIYAL , I P Uniyal, producer Bhagat Singh Jangra, Bharat Bisht, etc. The programme was moderated by Bharat Bisht and Manjul. The event was mesmerising as the title of the film ” Ravivar originally emanates from the Uttarakhand’s decades old role of the postman who used to deliver the messages good, bad or emotional through the letters to the people living in the distant hills of Uttarakhand.

The Movie is all set to be released in various theatres of Uttarakhand in 12 th September, 2025.


The poster were released by the production team including several renowned dignitaries of various fields of Uttarakhand across spectrum and non Uttarakhandis namely the President of Garhwal Hiteshini Sabha Surat Singh, general secretary Pawan Maithani , Rajendra Chouhan, renowned music director of regional Uttarakhand films, Sunil Negi, President Uttarakhand Journalists Forum, editor UKnationnews and Director Press club India, DIGMOHAN Singh Negi, renowned actress if regional films Manjul Bahuguna, AAP leader, former president of GHS and actor of Garhwali movies Ajay Bisht, director Shishir Uniyal, Mr. Saini and Mr Jangra producers of Raibaar, Sushila Rawat, first woman director of Uttarakhand regional films, Arjun Singh Rana, Indra Prasad Uniyal, producer, first Garhwali film actor Kusum Bisht and senior journalist Suresh Nautiyal and several others.

The chief guest of the event Ravindra Negi, MLA from Manavali couldn’t come due to his preoccupation. If may be recalled that the Garhwali movie produced by Keiniscope titled “Raibaar” delivers a Message of Hope and Forgiveness.

Set in the remote Himalayas, “Raibaar” tells the poignant story of Pushkar Singh Bisht,( SUNIL SINGH ) a 34 Year-old postman in the mountain village of Uttarakhand. Longing for a life beyond the peaks but held back by his father, his life takes an unexpected turn when he discovers an old undelivered letter from a deceased man to his estranged son, pleading for forgiveness.

Pushkar, a local postman embarks on a personal quest to Delhi in order to deliver this seven-year-old letter, a journey that becomes a profound exploration of forgiveness, purpose, and self-discovery.

The launch event was indeed a vibrant celebration of Garhwali culture and cinema. The evening featured the premiere of the film’s official trailer, after the launch of its soulful music album.

The music, a beautiful blend of traditional Garhwali melodies and contemporary composition, is composed by Rajendra Chauhan, with lyrics by Satish Kaleshwari and music direction & background score by Vibhu Kashiv.

Playback singers Rohit Chauhan and Kailash Kumar have given vocals to the songs, enriching their essence.

The event was attended by the film’s cast, including Sunil Singh, Suman Gaur, Shrish Dobhal, Rajesh Naugain, and Mohit Ghildiyal, along with director Shishir Uniyal and producers Bhagat Singh, Parveen Saini, and Balraj Jangra of Kinoscope Films, Babita Agrawal (Vortex Echo Productions) and Ishita Manna.

Shishir Uniyal, the Director notes, “Raibaar grew out of a simple conversation years ago, and I’m grateful it has now taken shape as a feature film. Through it, I wanted to tell a story about the healing power of forgiveness and the necessity of self-exploration for one’s own growth.”

The team aims to promote the linguistic and cultural heritage of Uttarakhand through this cinematic endeavour.
