New Delhi, 27 February 2021: Indian Youth Congress today protested against rising prices of petrol, diesel and gas cylinder outside the residence of Union Minister Smriti Irani.

BV Shriniwas said : The Modi government has made such a dent in the budget of the housewife and the common man, that they are unable to cope with, the price of gas cylinders which has increased up to ₹ 100 in the last days. It is the mercy of the Modi government that a new record is being set in the prices of petrol, diesel, gas cylinders he added. Raising slogans n confronting with the policemen the youth Congress activists also courted arrests in large numbers.
Continuing his address the Youth Congress president Srinivas BV said that farmers, youth, labourers, businessmen and women are badly suffering from inflation. Expressing his disgust and condemnation Shriniwas said that the anti-people and anti-national face of RSS and BJP has come out. He also said that the people of the country had chosen PM Modi and his ministers on the promise of a ACHCHE DIN BUT the trust of PM Modi and his government has been broken completely after the incessant price rise of petrol, Diesal and domestic gas leading to all round inflation. On the recent statement of the Petroleum Minister in which he said that the cold weather is responsible for petrol and diesel prices Shriniwas called it a stupid statement and demanded his resignation from his ministerial position appealing to the central government to reduce the prices of petrol, diesel and gas with immediate effect.
Rahul Rao, the National Media In-charge of the Indian Youth Congress, said that this government and its ministers have no understanding of the economy. Inflation is already increasing. The fire caused by the price of gas cylinders and petrol diesel will increase inflation further, the Modi government has become expensive on the country. He demanded that the increased prices should be withdrawn with immediate effect and the increase in excise duty should be brought back to provide relief to the people suffering from inflation and recession.
National General Secretary of the Indian Youth Congress and Delhi In-charge Bhaiya Pawar, National Secretary of the Indian Youth Congress and Delhi Co-incharge Khushboo Sharma, Delhi Youth Congress Vice President Ranvijay Singh Lochav, Shubham Sharma, Khatib Khan, and several other Youth Congress activists were present in the protest.
