The main opposition party Congress and the conglomeration of India National Inclusive Developmental Alliance which includes Congress as the leading partner seems to be gaining tremendous momentum which the saffron party charisma fading out.
Though the India alliance had already performed excellently in the recently held general elections securing 234 seats with Congress nearly doubling its previous tally to 99 -100 and the ruling party securing only 240 seats, depending on the crutches of support of Telugu Desam Party and Janata Dal ( United).
Entire world knows that the top BJP leadership and its entire rank and file had been shouting that BJP is crossing 400 seats mark this time putting the Congress and the INDIA in jeopardy and likely to rule on its own, but the contrary happened.
Now, only few months have elapsed since the BJP led NDA government is moving ahead but in 13 by-elections that were held on 10 July in seven states, the results have gone awry for the BJP with the saffron party only winning on two seats whereas the Indian National Inclusive Developmental Alliance has won on 10 seats with one seat won by an independent candudate.
Among the 10 victories of INDIA , the Congress party has won on FOUR SEATS exclusively.
According to the news reports the by elections on thirteen assembly seats were held in seven states on 10 July.
What is important hear to mention is that out of the thirteen seats the BJP has won only two seats and INDIA on TEN assembly seats. Out of these 13 winners one seat has been bagged by an independent candidate.
According to the BBC while the India alliance has won on 4 seats , the Trinamool Congress has triumphed on four assembly seats with DMK on one and Aam Admi Party on one seat.
What is interesting to note here is the fact that the Himachal CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has got a setback in his home district Hamirpur from where the BJP candidate Ashish Kumar Sharma has defeated the Congress candidate with a margin of 1500 votes though from Nalagarh assembly constituency the Congress candidate Hardeep Singh Bava has won satisfactorily.
The Himachal Pradesh chief minister’s wife who has contested as Congress candidate has win from the Dohra assembly constituency comfortably defeating the BJP candidate Hoshiar Singh with a huge margin of more than 32000 votes.
In Uttarakhand too the Congress party has won hands down from Mangalore and Badrinath by elections defeating the nearest BJP rivals Kartar Singh Bhadana and sitting MLA who had defected to BJP Mr. Rajendra Singh Bhandari, also a former Ukhand minister.
Kindly recall that on the above three assembly seats in HP in 2022 elections the independent candidates have won but had to resign after defection to BJP enabling the by-elections.
