Good rainfall in Pauri, Garhwal and adjoining areas with temperature likely to go down below 20 degrees Celcius

While the Delhi temperature today is 42 degrees Celcius with people perspiring badly compelled to remain indoors in air-conditioned rooms the temperature of Pauri Garhwal situated at 1765 feet has come down to 23 degree Celcius after heavy rains making the weather extremely pleasant with the night temperature likely to drop to 22 degrees Celcius or even less than that. During the day the temperature here was 26 degree Celcius , earlier going up to 31 degrees. The thundering of clouds and massive rainfall have resulted in temperature likely to go down below 20 degrees Celcius in the late evening hours with pleasant breeze flowing making the lives of the residents extremely pleasing. The rains will have impact on the adjoining areas like Kotdwar, Haridwar and even Rishikesh and Dehradun where temperature had risen to 40 to 42 degrees Celcius. It looks as if the winter session has arrived in Pauri while metropolises of the country like the national capital and several other states are reeling under scute heat waves with stray dogs, cats etc dying and people compelled to live indoors in air-conditioned rooms. The national capital which once about two decades ago had 2800 to 3200 MW power consumption has today broken all the past records with maximum consumption crossing 8300 MW , the highest among several states of the country.
