Harish Rawat to devote eight days in favour of Congress campaigning in Delhi after party losing in all mayoral seats in Uttarakhand

Though in Delhi, despite the best efforts of senior Congress leaders , the 135 year old party is not in the three cornered contest with AAP and BJP in close contest, the Uttarakhand’s former chief minister and member Congress Working Committee Harish Rawat is on way to Delhi to dedicate his seven- eight days to campaign in favour of the party candidates.

Kindly recall that after ruling in Delhi for fifteen glorious years under the chief minister ship of late Sheila Dikshit , the Congress has lost at the hands of AAP , a new party emerging out of the Anna movement against the then Congress governments at the centre and in Delhi accusing them for the then prevailing corruption.

However, the saffron party ( BJP) is out of power in NCT of Delhi for the last 27 years since 1998.

The AAM Admi Party led by Arvind Kejriwal , an IITian and former IRS has in 2013 while assuming power in Delhi had won massively on 67 seats with Congress getting a big Zero.

Since then after biting the dust the Congress party couldn’t revive and is a distant third in Delhi.

The latest survey also reveals that it is on the distant third position likely to win only on three seats at the most as per the prediction of the Falodi Satta Bazaar opinion polls from Rajasthan.

However, after losing in Uttarakhand in the mayoral and civic elections , the former Uttarakhand chief minister Harish Rawat is very confidently coming to Delhi today to participate in Delhi elections hectically campaigning for the Congress candidates including in favour of one Uttarakhandi candidate from Harinagar namely Prem Sharma. Our of the eleven mayors the Congress scored a big Zero with BJP winning in ten Mayoral seats and one independent winning from Srinagar Garhwal seat namely Artu Bhandari.

In Delhi, there are thirty to forty lakh Uttarakhand’s population and Rawat being the former Uttarakhand CM may campaign among these voters to bag good chunk of votes in favour of Congress candidates.

However, it remains to be seen as to how effective he would prove among the Uttarakhand voters especially after badly losing in the mayoral and civic elections in Uttarakhand ?

While heading towards Delhi from Dehradun, Harish Rawat wrote on his Facebook post in Hindi : I am going to Delhi, for the next 7-8 days. I will hold public meetings and public relations in support of Congress candidates as per the party’s instructions in the Delhi election campaign. When I was 4-5 years old, my elder mother used to drop me to school and pick me up. Our primary school was at a distance of 2-3 kilometres; there was a forest and mountain ravines in between. I was a four-five year old child at that time. When I used to get tired of walking, my mother used to repeat one word again and again #Hit_Harisha_Hit (walk) since then I am walking. Till now I was busy in the local body elections and now I am reaching Delhi to campaign for the party, Hit Harisha Hit, I will keep hitting as long as I have strength wrote Harish Rawat on social media.

Meanwhile the Uttarakhand Congress has accused the BJP for committing multiple irregularities ” Dhaandli” in the voter lists and voting etc during municipal and Punchayat elections forming its own committee to prove it deeply.
